Billionaire businessman Donald Trump has nothing but praise for the tea party.
I am a Republican, but I believe strongly in the tea party and I love the people of the tea party, Trump told WPTV-News Channel 5 on Thursday during the Palm Beach County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner. I love many of the things they represent and you know what? They love me...

Why call Cruz a liar or an idiot?
Don’t compare the 2008 presidential ticket not turning on itself and destroying the national party, to the newly elected Senator of Texas going so far out of his way to continue to CREDIT Palin with his win, Palin was not the only person endorsing him, nor is there a reason for him to be alienating the national media and the Romney/Rove wing of the GOP with such determination.
Sorry, I don’t go by polls. They has Obama losing in a landslide so you can thow the polling data out the window.
True, you said “shares her philosophy of liberty and limited government” and that’s very true but you could also finish the sentence by saying: “Ted Cruz shares her philosophy (and that of most Texans) of liberty and limited government.
And I am tired of outsiders like Trump being on the stump.
Ted Cruz is not a liar or an idiot. But he is a politician.
Sarah Palin is not a liar or an idiot. But she is a politician.
Sarah Palin endorsed John McCain in his Senate run after John McCain chose her as her VP. Her supporters never referred to her as a liar or an idiot. They said “it’s politics” and that she’s just “paying John McCain back”.
You didn’t expect Ted Cruz to come out and publically say “I thank Sarah Palin and Mark Levin for supporting my campaign but I could have done it without them”??
Of course Ted Cruz is going to credit his supporters for his victory. He’s going to need them again when it’s time for re-election.
Shades of Lonesome Rhoades.
Well, I didn’t expect this to turn into a Palin bashing thread, but you seem determined to make Cruz out a liar, and to deny the reality of his firm singling out of Governor Palin for his victory, even though you read his words.
In 2010, McCain was not going to lose his lifelong Senate seat, and it was never under threat.
If the vice presidential candidate for John McCain and the the biggest GOP superstar since Reagan had not supported McCain for reelection for his Senate seat, then it would have meant the destruction of her image, and of the GOP image and it would have been the non stop political story of 2009 and 2010, the division between the ticket of the previous year would have made the Republicans appear broken and shattered and would even have led to a widespread reevaluation of the importance of a Democrat victory in 2008, because it would make the GOP ticket look like it had been a sham, it would have damaged and have prevented this incredible change in public opinion towards the entire republican brand that Palin has helped reshape during the last 17 months.
Palin would have looked cheap and shallow to the general public for turning on the man that 59,000,000 of them voted for, she would easily be painted as a radical and unstable person and a bitter, small timer to the general public.
There is a lot more going on with the national image of the republican/conservative movement here than what we McCain haters see in the Arizona Senate race, the general public does not share all of our perceptions and in depth view of the race between McCain and Hayworth. They would see the Presidential and the vice Presidential candidates of the Republican party at each others throats, clearly signaling that Obama and the Democrats represented stability and calm.
Palins image would have never survived, and the entire national, conservative movement would be weaker in reality and in the publics eye.
Bingo! And I will be watching Mr Cruz for signs of Potomac fever (He is a lawyer)
I understand how you feel but hey, it was empty and nobody else was sitting on it. I think we should blame those who are real conservatives for not running to the stump long ago.
"Of course Ted Cruz is going to credit his supporters for his victory. Hes going to need them again when its time for re-election."
Now show me where he talks about them like he gushes about Palin.
LOL @ "Palin Bashing"
I think I've stated my support for Sarah Palin in more than one comment in this thread.
You keep thinking that Cruz had it in the bag because it is Texas, you really didn’t know that Dewhurst was the automatic winner, that Cruz didn’t stand a chance?
We’ll take the money, but forget the public display.
Trump is a HUGE target.
He IS the Mega rich.
You claim to be a Palin supporter, but on this thread you are bending truth and reality in every direction that you can, to go at her, and to deny Ted Cruz’s expert opinion on his own shocking upset victory.
Lots of us hated Dewhurst for being to much of an insider.
Show me the gushing by Cruz over anyone besides Palin, show me his crediting other supporters with being the single element that put him over the top, show me all that, I haven’t seen it, nor have you.
Call it the Sarah Palin bounce: Hours after the 2008 vice presidential nominee endorsed Ted Cruz, a Republican candidate for U.S. senator from Texas, on Thursday morning, the staff at Cruzs headquarters in Austin reported a swift and positive reaction.
Campaign manager John Drogin confirmed by email to Yahoo News that Palins endorsement has added HUGE buzz to our campaign.
Phones are ringing, online contributions are pouring in, and supporters are more excited than ever on our social networks, Drogin wrote, adding that hes seen a flood of donations but has yet to tally them.
Sarah Palin might have been sitting out this years Republican National Convention, but that does not mean that she has been forgotten by the party faithful in Tampa.
Especially not by Ted Cruz, who credits her endorsement with helping him beat Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst in the race for the Texas GOP Senate nomination.
While speaking with POLITICOs Mike Allen this morning, the Texas Republican Senate nominee called Palins endorsement game-changing.
If you look at the senate races across the country this cycle and last cycle, Governor Palin has had a game changing impact one after the other, explained Cruz. Palin endorsed Cruz, a Tea Party favorite who shares her philosophy of liberty and limited government, just days before a wide-open May 29 primary, helping to propel Cruz into a strong second place showing. The Cruz surge provided momentum for his runoff battle with Dewhurst.
(snip)
The Tea Party favorite admitted that many have referred to his victory as improbable. He told Allen that the reason why Palins endorsement has had such an enormous impact is because voters consider her a true barometer of conservatism.
In a Republican primary, everyone claims to be conservative and voters are pretty cynical. They are tired of these candidates that sounds great on the stump. They say they are going to cut spending, they get into the office and they become spineless jellyfish, Cruz said. I think conservatives trust Sarah Palin that if she says this guy is a conservative, that he is a real deal.
They were also claiming Obama was going to lose in a landslide.
Gee that’s nice, it is a good thing that Palin intervened to cost him the primary, it was a very close thing.

LOL, yeah, Cruz and the political world are all wrong, it wasn’t an upset at all.
Here is the problem.
Sarah crossed the superstar line and started all those reality shows and crap.
I understand why, but she is getting to much like The Donald on the Show Business.
She seems to be actively dialing it back and I think that is a good thing, but the Donald is dialing it up.
Every morning on the VIEW with a cashmere cardigan to be mocked by the lefts harpies.
Sarah was authentic BEFORE she quit and started the KING MAKER bit.
It’s a high profile
She is drawing it back or being forced to draw it back.
At any rate, It does not suit her as leader of the Tea Party.
Your mileage may vary.
So then, you disagree with my opinion that Sarah Palin was responsable for the 2010 GOP victory when they won the House?
So, you disagree with my opinion that Sarah Palin was much more experienced to be President than John McCain and Barack Obama combined?
So, you disagree with my desires that Sarah Palin take leadership of the Tea Party and run for President as the Tea Party candidate?
So, you disagree with my statement that Sarah Palin is more experienced to be President than even Obama in his second term?
Is that the truth I'm"bending"?
