Libertarians generally are fiscally conservative liberals..

Conservatives generally have the philosophy that if you kill me, my family, my cops or our soldiers we're gonna kill you right back.... IMHO

I would have preferred the trial, but I can read the actions of both sides and determine that it was not going to happen. If Dormer had indicated he was willing to go the trial route I would agree with you. He wasn't, so my outlook is not the same as yours.
