Exactly. The guy was a cop-killer. There’s an age-old American tradition of cop-killers not exactly making it far. This was hardly some wildly new scenario. It was downright expected. Just a shame an innocent cabin bit the dust.

Heck, I recall locally here in Texas, when I was in college, a couple of troopers were transporting a convicted multiple-murderer from one prison to another. Well, they stopped at a place for some coffee. And the handcuffed convict “supposedly” tried to escape by jumping out of the car and running into the woods. He had a bullet in his back before he got beyond sight of the car. Exit one scumbag. Nobody even made a stink!

Your guy, however, was already convicted...found guilty by trial after the evidence had been weighed. With Dorner, there won’t be a trial and we won’t see the evidence.
