Yes, that seems to be the prevailing view here. Incredible, isn't it? Somehow the lessons of our own revolution have been lost, even on our own semi-informed citizens.

Especially disconcerting when the way that people "know" the accused is guilty is often the selfsame media which can't tell the color of the sky above and the grass below with accuracy on any given day.

If these are the ones to whip the mob to a frenzy to call for blood and justify the star-chamber vengeance mobs under colour of law, we are in grave danger indeed.

I don't know that Dorner wrote or did any of what he has been accused of, and we will not ever see any of that contested in a court of law. All I "know" is what has been alleged and what the media said.

As far as video goes, I saw California slide into the ocean (2012), New York freeze over (some other stupid movie), and space alien weapons carve up a Burke-class destroyer...

We have reached the tech level where anything, any image, any act can be faked before our very eyes, especially on lower-def "security camera footage". Without strict adherence to due process, anyone can be accused of virtually anything and hunted down faster and with more impunity than an excommunicae in the dark ages--while the masses sit in front of the very televisions which told them that person is guilty and cheer their demise.

The Circus Maximus lives.

As Rush said the other day, It’s not what people don’t know it’s what they know that is not true. Many here on FR are so sure that what they have learned from the media is true.
