CNN Absurdly Asks If Rubio's Sip of Water Was 'Career-Ender'
NewsBusters ^

Posted on 02/13/2013 4:25:10 PM PST by chessplayer

<> On Wednesday's The Situation Room, host Wolf Blitzer absurdly wondered if Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) pausing his State of the Union response for a drink of water would "break" his career. The CNN chyron flashed "Career-ender?"

"So can a drink of water make or break a political career?" Blitzer asked. "A U.S. Senator, possible presidential candidate. We're going to find out, whether he likes it or not." [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Why, oh why would anyone watch CNN if there is anything else at all to watch?

The only thing that will end Rubio’s career is if he completely sells out conservatives to curry favour with the GOP Establishment in his pursuit of the Presidency.

I didn't watch Obama's speech or Rubio's speech, but this morning on Fox & Friends they had either a snippet from Rubio's speech or a snippet from his appearance on F&F earlier today. A couple of times he said "less people" when he should have said "fewer people." That was disturbing. Democrats can say idiotic things all the time and it is OK (Nancy Pelosi doesn't know the difference between "first" and "second") but Republicans are held to a higher standard.

Demosthenes was also mocked for being a water-drinker, and what did it get him? He never became President of the United States.

Remember the movie “Scanners” back in the early 80s?

They were praying for a Rubio replay.

The media have one purpose: Defeating the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and their fascination with destroying the U.S. is solely due to the fact that it was founded on that Gospel.

The left will turn Rubio sipping some water into one of the greatest scandals of all time.

It hurts to witness this stupidity.

He told some morning talk show host that he needed it as he had just taped the full speech IN SPANISH before going on.

The GOP can pander all day long to everyone and defend themselves as respectful of liberals but until they get someone out there who can show defense of the Constitution and let everything else fall into place, they are just a bunch of doofuses.

Sorry.

Rubio is going to fall flat and if he doesn’t we’ll find out later. Why do we fall for a handsome fast talker like a fifteen year old girl?

We’re playing their game and we are not as good as they are at it.

Pick a new game and be good at it. One they have to play. Call it “Let’s protect ad Defend the Constitution”.

He can talk but he has no debating skills. He’s unseasoned. Forget it.

And why would he not do that, sell out?

Because we don’t want him to?

It’s like a teen with a crush. Who is this guy we’re defending to the point of foul language?

Dig a little.

What’s his background? What does he think of the Constitution?

You know, he fibbed when he went on the big three radio programs. He said citizenship wil lbe denied until whatever, the borders are secure blah blah.

What he did not mention was illegal status would be removed and the illegal could stay as legal non citizen.

Your lack of vocabulary is matched only by your lack of skill in framing an argument.

It’s not my fault if Rubio has surrounded himself with incompetent handlers. The RNC used to have seminars where they’d teach the basics.

If someone is going to need water (which wouldn’t be unexpected under tv lights) you put it within easy reach, not where they have to awkwardly reach for it. It should have been a couple of feet closer and a foot higher.

And water breaks should be used for emphasis. He should be able to maintain eye contact with the camera while going for the water, not have to search for it on the desk.

His folks screwed up - whether it was sabotage by the country club republicans or mere lack of competence by an aide, he needs to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

CNN didn’t think a blue stained dress should end Bill Clintons career but awkward sipping of water should end Rubios career?

To an intelligent human being, it was a total non-issue.

Only to a childish dither-headed control freak would it even be memorable.

His handlers, him, the GOPe, The GOP who ever, all of them and hime.

It shows doofussness and we’re all sick of it even the media.

These guys are all so scared of the Libs, the media, the voters BO.

They can not get their foooting because they are playing an unwinnable game and they know it.

THey don’t know it yet but they need to change the rules and it won’t be Rubio as front guy in a new game.

Rubio is a face and a talker. When he can’t get that right, he’s toast and he knows it.

He has no substance.

When you see “Lincoln”, which I de not necessarily like, you see a human side. He’s talking with his cabinet while crwling on the floor in front of the fireplace, shifting logs for mor flame.

He’s not a doofus because he is talking about something substantial.

BO talks about stuff he and his silly supporters find substantial. Rubio. What did he say?

If it didn’t reseble in the least way what Bill Flax said in today’s Forbes magazine column, then it’s utterly irrelevant and forgettable.

I’m just saying that “anyone but BO” can be very dangerous like a rebound romance. And that’s how Rubio is treated. He’s defended beyond reason.

No, and they should not act that way with the power they have, but they do. It’s just the facts of what we’re dealing with, which we are not. WE’re just whining about it. the libs will never get up as a whle one morning and say “geeze, we’re being immoral, unfair, ridiculous and wed better listen to the conservatives or there’ll be bad consequences.

It’s not ever going to happen.

OK, I see the problem. You are under the misapprehension that the average voter is intelligent. No wonder your candidates have been losing.
