In separate, highly detailed memos sent to Congress, the military services described widespread civilian furloughs, layoffs and hiring freezes that will hit workers all around the country. Overall, the military will furlough 800,000 civilian workers for 22 days, spread across more than five months, and will lay off as many as 46,000 temporary and contract employees.

The Navy says it will cease deployments to South America and the Caribbean and limit those to Europe.

The Air Force warned that it would cut operations at various missile defense radar sites from 24 hours to eight hours. The Army said it would cancel training center rotations for four brigades and cancel repairs for thousands of vehicles, radios and weapons.

“These steps would seriously damage the fragile American economy, and they would degrade our ability to respond to crisis precisely at a time of rising instability across the globe,” Panetta said, adding that the self-made crisis “undermines the men and women in uniform who are willing to put their lives on the line in order to protect this country.”

Obama the Undocumented Moslem/Marxist Tyrant
has send MANPADs to al Qaeda,
and F16s to the Moslem Brotherhood,
money for WMD and rockets to Hamas,
Fast&Furious weapons to terrorists at the US Border,
as he has SACKED the defense of America.

And Congress?
On their knees to him and the Enemies of America,
after which they cash their checks, make money
for themselves, and attend the Senate and House Brothels.

The sequestration is an obama-inspired plan: Remember, just last September, 14 SEPT to be exact, reporter Amber Corwin of FCW said this -

House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon (R-Calif.) criticized the report itself and the administration’s effort as “inadequate.”

“Bottom line – the administration failed to comply with both the letter and the spirit of the law. Not only was it late, but the report OMB submitted to Congress today pays lip service to the dire national security implications of these cuts...after a year to consider this crisis, I can’t understand why they needed an extra week to produce such an inadequate report,” McKeon stated.

I hope that the Repewbicans don’t cave in again. If we go over the so called cliff on March 1 they should wait a few days are start negotiating from a position of strength. I heard Donald Trump say that when you go into negotiating a deal always be ready to get up and walk out.

First Publish: 2/12/2013, 6:29 AM

"Most of the funds – some $495.7 million – were already set aside for the PA in fiscal 2012, which ended on October 1.

However, a request for an additional $200 million, appropriated for fiscal 2013, was sent to the Congress last week, Nuland said.

Don't you want "peace and security" for the ME? Besides, too much firepower is intimidating our Muslim friends, like it was in Benghazi. We've got to get this money from somewhere. /s

A bit of insight from Hunt for Red October seems appropriate:

Admiral Josh Painter: This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it.

I don't understand why we need any naval fleets in the Persian Gulf... Now that Obama's installed his buddies the islamists in nearly every country in the middle east and north africa, we have no use for naval forces. They're Obama's buds! They love us now.
