Anything you hear right now should be completely ignored... until there is an official ID via dental records or whatever and you hear it directly from the authority, not Anderson Cooper or anyone else.
Secondly, and my wife and I got into a fight over this one too... I don't think the police should be lighting fires and murdering people. I'm not saying this SOB didn't deserve what he got, but the police cannot be trusted with this kind of power. They could have sent everyone home except 3-4 guys and just waited the bastard out.
Right now I'm making some assumptions that they lit the fire on purpose based on some unofficial and unverified audio I heard on youtube. I guess the audio could be faked by some turd trying to stir trouble, I don't know for sure. I just have a problem with the ideal in general that it is Ok for the police to trap him inside and light it on fire... if that is indeed what happened.
Well they burnt up the branch davidians, why not dorner?
My understanding is the SBCPD employed both smoke and tear gas canisters. These are fired projectiles and have igniters which set the charge off. These projectiles frequently lead to fires when employed against barricaded gunmen in a building with combustible materiel (carpet for instance) around. The technology appears to be pretty old and basically unchanged since the 1930’s.
The sheriff’s department says they searched the area. Yet everyone who lives near the cabin said nobody ever knocked on their door. And the cabin is a mile from the command post.
I agree the guy had it coming. He told the world what he was going to do and went out and did it.
