Some of the idiocy here is alarming. js retired after the 1999 season. The incident you are referring to occurred in 2001. js never went on any bowl trips or any other trips after his retirement.
MM testified that after 2001 he never again saw js with a second mile kid on campus. Ever.
Where do some of you people come up with this stuff? It's mind boggling how dis-informed some of you are. Truly mind-boggling. It feels good, so you just type it out as if it's fact.
Effin' stupid is what it is.
Especially the idiocy posted by pedophile apologists.
Here’s the very simple answer, but I am sure you will never see the truth for the simple reason you either don’t wnat to know it, or you know it and don’t care.
Joe Paterno knew that Sandusky raped a boy in the shower. THe fact that he did not raise hell until Sandusky was 100% out of/off of the campus and removed from all contact with boys means he was complicit. No decent or sane human being could rest knowint that a man was raping boys in his vicinity, and just shrug it aside with the excuse “well, I told someone, I did my little part”.
I'll say.
Sandusky was investigated for child sex abuse in 1998, which lead to his "retirement" in 1999.
Two years later, in 2001, Sandusky was still showering with boys, and raping them, in the Penn State showers.
At that point, anything Joe didn't know, Joe didn't want to know. You're telling me that Joe didn't know Sandusky was previously investigated for child sex abuse? His own freaking defensive coordinator who had to resign because of the investigation!? And Joe didn't know that this specially-designated 'emeritus' coach was still bringing young boys around the football facility.
Oh, I forgot, you told me on another thread that Paterno was a "Republican" so I'm supposed to look the other way...
Except Jerry Sandusky announced in July 1999 that he was retiring effective the end of the 1999 season. All of 1999 was Sandusky's goodbye tour.
During the '99 season, he brought Victim #4 to the pre-game Friday night banquets (where they sat at the coaches' table) and sleepovers at Toftree's, and Victim #4 went to the Alamo Bowl that year with Sandusky.
V#4 alleges he was molested by Sandusky both at Toftree's and at the Alamo Bowl.
Mike McQueary may never have seen Sandusky with a Second Mile kid on campus again . . . but one of the claimants not represented among those named in the grand jury presentment is a boy who alleges he was molested in the Penn State football offices in 2004. His attorney provided the police with Penn State memorabilia (a hockey puck and some PSU National Championship memorabilia) that the boy says Sandusky gave him. Perhaps MM didn't have any recruiting videos to pick up that night.
