Tune in Tuesday night to President Barack Obamas State of the Union address. As the president speaks, he will be alert to the chorus of Hollywood stars, environmental activists, editorial writers and industry leaders who are pushing for him to make the biggest climate-change decision he can possibly make: Impose a carbon tax.

In the name of the Big Green Lie, AGW, he wants us to bow down and worship his brilliance.
What will it take for the Congress to say "We have had enough of the usurption of power"?
Gentlemen (sort of) It is Time, It is Long Past Time.
Control over carbon is control over everything, and a piece of everyone's action into perpetuity.
It is too important, and they will get it whatever it takes.
Once you can tax and license the breath you breathe, you go beyond totalitarian to just plain total.
So, sure, they'll give us Keystone in return for carbon. Keystone is important but carbon is game over.
The price of a corrupt Congress and Executive branch is Blackmail instead of business. I pray to God for Justice cause America will never see it again without Him.
It’s like being mugged, and the mugger who just stole $1000 from you offers to give you $10 back for a cab home.
“Free Men Need Not Ask Permission.” TF
Regardless of what the article says, he does not have the authority to impose a carbon tax. The whold AGW thing is a lie and everyone sane knows it. The party is over on that one.
Now if Congress were to accept a Carbon Tax, it is time for a full revolt. Millions converge on DC and let them know this is not going to happen.
This is the line in the sand. As is the unilateral reduction of Nukes. Neither can be allowed. Survival of the Nation depends on it. And the survival of all Free Men world wide.
The alternative is the most evil of Despotisms.
The price of no Keystone may be the *****-slapping of the demon party - bring it on, barkie.
Keystone would be good for the country but it isn’t worth putting my kinds into chains to get.
I wonder what new evil plot he’s unfolding as he alarms us with this new revelation. He learned too well from Alinsky. Knock your opponent off balance and keep them on the defense by scaring the he’ll out of them using BS tactics like this. Well we can catch on too. Let’s propose taking away the President ability to exercise the Executive Order and watch ihim piss his pants while telling him impeachment orders are being filed because it’s been proven that there is no Hawaiin birth certificate.
His mission on Earth is to destroy this country. And he might be doing God’s will.
“Terence Corcoran: The price of Keystone may be a carbon tax”
If that’s to be “the deal”, let the Keystone fade away for now. Don’t build it.
That’s too high a price to pay.
Someday Obama will be gone, and perhaps common sense may again come back into fashion. Then we can revive the idea.
Prediction: watch the idiot Pubbies jump at such an offer. They’ll be linin’ up to vote for it!
This column is nonsense. First, Prime Minister Harper is a conservative and has lowered taxes - he won’t raise them. The federal budget is relatively stable, and he certainly wouldn’t do it with a carbon tax (if you want to know why do a search for National Energy Program from the early 1980s - it almost bankrupted the country). Second, the Keystone XL pipeline is hardly the only option for moving oilsands petroleum products to market. The are two pipeline proposals to go through British Columbia to the Pacific coast. There is a proposal to beef up pipelines heading to eastern Canada. The petroleum is already being shipped south by existing pipelines and rail. Rail transportation south especially can be expanded. There is also a proposal to build a dual rail line to the Alaska coast which could double up bringing foreign goods east. Everyday as the planning for these other projects ramp up the Keystone XL pipeline becomes less relevant for moving oilsands petroleum.
Just another excuse and means to destroy the U.s. economy.
Thanks for the insight.
I found this on Drudge yesterday before Zero’s state of the collapse speech.
I have no doubt his supporters want the Carbon Tax, but have no knowledge of the political climate in Canada. Your comments make sense and are reassuring.
At this point it is up the the GOP Congress to expose these frauds. There is no other way out. There are some in Congress who are up to the task, but they are pretty few, unfortuanately.
Obama talks tough on climate & proposes drilling for clean energy program

“An emboldened, second-term President Obama on Tuesday made clear that if lawmakers dont tackle climate change, he will do an end run around Congress and use his executive powers to curb greenhouse gas emissions linked to global warming. “
You're welcome.
He danced all around the phrase “carbon tax” without actually saying it. Thankfully, it would have to pass through a Republican House - and won’t. Hopefully it will still be a Republican House majority after the 2014 mid-terms. [nervous smile]
