Former Army Staff Sgt. Clint Romesha was a section leader during the Oct. 3, 2009, attack on Combat Outpost Keating in eastern Afghanistan, one of the deadliest attacks against coalition forces in Afghanistan. Eight American soldiers were killed and two dozen others wounded. This harrowing battle was marked by the heroism of many, including Romesha who fought to save his life and those of his fellow soldiers.
On Monday, February 11, President Barack Obama will award Staff Sgt. Clint Romesha the Medal of Honor. In honor of his award, the Army has produced a three-part series highlighting Romesha from the beginning of the battle, his leadership during the fight and finally, his life since leaving the Army.

Deployments to Korea, Kosovo, Iraq (twice), and then Afghanistan. Loves the Army, but left to be a better husband and family man. Working in the oil fields in ND as a safety specialist. Amazing story of heroism. A shame that Bathhouse Barry’s hands will soil the CMOH he is to receive. Bring in someone honorable such as Bush 43 to make these presentations.

I finished reading, The Outpost by Jake Tapper and Romesha's actions are described in detail. How any US soldiers survived is a testament to their fighting ability and courage. Why the US even put an outpost at the bottom of mountains is stupidity but the higher ups wanted it there. Carter also received the MOH. Mace passed away at a hospital in Bagram.

Clint Romesha: Refuses to allow 400 enemy to overrun his COP in Afghanistan and make off with dead Americans. Kills 10 enemy and coordinates the killing of dozens more. Hero.
Obama: Ignores the plight of Americans in Libya, allowing four, including his own ambassador, to be murdered. Coward.

FYI..this detailed story, and analysis. of the action, is a MUST-READ:
"Phase Line 'Birnam Wood'"
It's also curious that he's leaving the Army. A living CMOH winner pretty much has his ticket punched..whatever duty/post he wants..

He already had made multiple deployments and been away from his wife and children for much of his marriage. He had been in several scrapes prior to COP Keating, and was feeling his 9 lives were used up. Don't think he knew about the CMOH before leaving the Army.

That explains it then. Thanks for the info. Surprising that the Army doesn’t offer him the chance to return to active duty. He would never be deployed again outside CONUS..

Thanks for the video link. Very moving interview. "Survivors guilt" is all-to-common in small unit actions.
Please make sure to read the story ( link I posted in #9)..it's a devastating indictment of those higher up the chain of command.....basically, it says that it was all for naught...
The counseling and support that the Sgt needs, and hopefully will receive, would seem to be more readily available were he on active duty.

SSgt. Romesha is one of our great Lions in Battle. I'm stunned and incredulous that he is allowing himself to be used as a tool of this Evil Regime by attending SOTU tomorrow evening.
Keep Faith with the Fallen of Benghazi! Let the Obama Regime, for once, tell the Truth!
