The hunt for alleged cop killer Christopher Dorner has turned into a major public relations challenge for law enforcement officials, in particular the Los Angeles Police Department working its way back from a history of corruption and abuse.
Not only have hundreds of well-trained officers equipped with military-style vehicles including helicopters with thermal imaging devices one pilot says can pick out a rabbit in a snowstorm been unable to find the man charged with killing three people and wounding two others on a rampage aimed at police officers and their families.
The LAPD also has been forced to reexamine the reasons for Mr. Dorners dismissal as a police officer in 2009 brought about, Dorner charges in the 11-page manifesto he posted on Facebook, by racism in the department. And the LAPD is having to make amends to the two people a middle-aged Hispanic woman and her mother delivering newspapers wounded when police riddled their truck with gunfire. (The womens truck was neither the make nor the color of Dorners pickup later found abandoned.)
The search for Dorner continued Sunday in and around the San Bernardino mountains east of Los Angeles, but police were on edge and alert to the possibility that the alleged killer had left California. Police in Las Vegas (where Dorner owns property) are now traveling in pairs, and motorcycle patrol officers have been ordered into less-vulnerable cruisers...

Yep. What they can’t pick out is a guy who knows that anybody with a $3 space blanket can avoid detection by thermal imaging cameras.
If I lived in LA, I would be more afraid of the LAPD than Dorner.
A space blanket will not give much concealment from thermal imaging even when initially put on and even less once body heat warms the material up. In cold climates it is even less useful for concealment.
Put gun in cops hands and the one being pointed at is going to wind up dead. after all if there is no one to testify, the cop get off with a justified shooting. The circus these clowns in L.A. are running shows that they can’t bully everyone. I can’t justify Dorners shooting proclivities but this incident may have brought things to light within LAPD they otherwise were content to keep hidden.
I would place him somewhere in Canada. Not as much heat at the border as Mexico. There are plenty of isolated wooded areas to cross back and forth without encountering I C E.
What it takes is 1. Put yourself on the guments radar. & 2. have a cowardly neighbor, relative or friend to rat you out.
Look at the hitler youth and the neighborhood wardens continuously on the lookout to report someone in order to look good to the Gestapo.
