Law enforcement is the responsibility of the citizenry, for good or ill. All of the citizenry, not some class of government overseers.

And I really don't give a shit how much you personally want to help push us down the road towards a police state where we are all subject to our government betters.

If you think I am unfair in any way, lets just examine the crap statement you made and see if it can logically lead to any other type of society.

I have no sympathy for Mr Dorner, but had he not made threats against police and killed a policeman this would just be another ho-hum turn of events. He would be left out in the mountains to freeze to death. No reward, just fortnightly updates that he had not yet been captured.
