Ok, saw this commercial watching the Blues and Ducks game.

This is disturbing to say the least. Found their web page which gives no information, maybe if your on facebook it does. Listed are recruiting venues and regional events.

So where did this come from? They do not appear to have ties or connections with any existing military branch but clearly put our flag in the video.

It’s a promotional campaign for the new G.I. Joe movie. The website puts you through some cognitive tests, and you get a facebook badge. It’s not a real paramilitary organization.

Slick ad though. Reminded me a little of the SPADS force from the game ‘XIII’. They ended up trying to stage a coup for the KKK though, so I’m pretty glad this isn’t genuine. haha.

It was probably an ad for some soon to be released video game.

Me thinks this some sort of GI JOE gaming/movie “recruiting.” It looks more like a game or movie than any sort of actual military unit (Cobra is a GI JOE organization). A bit weird in the advertizing side.... the confusion in what it “really is” is probably intended to create controversy and drive further free advertising resulting from it.

I remember the GI Joe comics from Marvel in the 80’s had every town named Springfield in America being secret bases for COBRA. I thought that was a pretty cool idea.

FYI, the slang expression for an advertisement is ad, not add. Add is math. You know: 2+3=4
