Exactly the position I'm in. No permits for citizens in Illinois.
Or people that have Bi polar who have never been in a hospital or had any violent episodes. People who are as normal as you and I, but have a certain chemical imballance.
mental health conditions...that are confidential and is not in this equation so the government decides who gets and who doesn’t.
Next, a much larger portion of the population will be recorded as mentally ill. Then, they’ll go after people with poor credit histories and so on.
There's plenty of evidence to support that. ;-)
*************************
As defined by who?
I think the Soviets called it the "Ministry of Health".
A round about way of saying enforce current law. But, that, would deprive Bolshecrat voters, where, new law would deprive the law abiding.
“. . .those who have been deemed a risk because of felony convictions or episodes of domestic violence, mental health conditions or drug addictions.”
You go and disarm them. I’ll wait here ‘til you come back.
“Deadly weapons?”
Not limited to guns?
Mental health CONDITIONS?
No definition.
Good law.
How about including a provision that prohibits the carrying of a gun “by proxy,” that is, hiring someone to carry a gun for your protection?
There goes Sacramento and Hollywood, which, incidentally, are probably the two greatest sources of “mental health conditions” in the state.
It won't be long before they add DWI convictions and minor drug violations (misdemeanor marijuana possession or even possession of a bong) to the list of prohibiting factors.
See the organizations related to mental illness and medical concerns in the following. Republicans in CO are reportedly going to make a deal with Democrats on the mental health issue. It appears that the NRA site deleted the list today (accessed earlier). The list is also available from quite a few other web sites.

Thanks for the list.
I didn’t see God, Jesus, or my wife’s name on there - so I’m good.
Many liberals believe that Christianity is a mental illness.
I think Obama probably does and he once talked about “they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who arent like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment “
Illegally owned guns? There ain’t no such thing.
I don't agree at all. Slippery slope. Once you agree in principle to excluding some people, then you can gradually exclude everyone.
I’m with you on that.
I know there's already felony dui on the books, probably true of the other things you mentioned too, plus all sorts of white collar crimes that have no violence in them. Felons, one and all, even if they've paid their debt to society.
Let me be the first to invite the author to the nearest ghetto, barrio or trailer park and begin the process. Either the concept of “criminals ignore laws” is too deep for some people or they just want to see Americans disarmed by any means possible to further their political agendas. I suspect the latter.
