Sorry, as much as I HATE to defend my fellow low info NY voters, the weather channel and everyone else was WRONG.
This may be helpful in the future. I keep
Weather Underground Full Screen Weather up as a tab at all times. You can zoom down to your local radar and google earth image.
This is the only weather site that I follow for real time information (plus my own Davis Weather Station). I use Accuweather for extended forecasts, but take it with a grain of salt. Their temperature readings are usually off by 5 degrees.
There is no malice intended. Hypothetically, if you had called me from your location, I could have given you at least an hour warning to get out of Dodge from the realtime information provided at the link.
