This is a mixed video.

It is unclear to me why the cop stopped in the first place. Was she on someone’s land?

The cop asks her is she has something (a permit?) and then radios in her info to a dispatcher.

He finds out she had a prior weapons charge of some sort (she says “a long time ago”).

He then begins searching her w/o her consent. I think he was intimidated by her taping video of the incident.

When you posted this and stated that she was being harrassed b/c she was picking up rocks, I thought this was the Paleontological Protection Act in action. That law forbids collection of vertebrate fossils on public land - makes it a federal Felony, in fact.

That law forbids collection of vertebrate fossils on public land - makes it a federal Felony, in fact.

It makes sure they become crumbling fragments in washes and creekbeds instead of maybe being collected and preserved for study later, or inspiring a youngster to become a scientist...
