That subtitle wasn't apparent when I copied the title with the author and date. It appeared when I pasted it!

There are over 20k gun-control laws ( The Brookings Institution) in existence in the US. And yet we need more? Obviously gun control laws don’t work. Criminals don’t know or care about gun control laws. Only the law abiding citizen suffers because of these laws.

and a requirement that all guns in the state be registered, not just handguns as is required now.

This confuses me. CA already passed a law that requires long gun registration effective Jan 2014. Maybe they're going to speed this up?

What new gun laws would have prevented this whack-job from doing what he is doing?

How many citizens of CA will leave over this carp?

1,000 people per day are said to be moving to Texas from other states. We don’t want any of the CA Lefties, already have our quota in Austin.

DC can forget this gun grab when it comes to Texas. NOT Going to Happen.....

Anywhere you have dem majorities, you have excessive gun control. NY just got a bunch more and CA is looking to out-do NY. As states turn blue, you can kiss your 2A rights goodbye. It’s just a fact of life. Get used to it.

I think they mean retroactive registration, all long guns currently in the state to be registered, not just new ones purchased after 2014.

Can you imagine enforcing laws like that in Texas?

hee hee hee

Not enough goons to even try. Too many oilies, rednecks, veterans, hunters, farmers and just plain gun lovers. There are a lot of women here who feel the same way. Many of them carry. The can just forget TX, OK and much of the South....

Gun, ammo bills pending in the Calif. Legislature

And I thought Albany, NY went nuts!

There's a couple of possible bright sides to all this gun grabbing. Second Amendment single issue voters wake up about the rats. Independents who are conservatives but got fed up with the the GOP and voted third party see the error of their ways. I read the D.C. v. Heller decision. Almost all of these bills are unconstitutional, if not all of them, IMHO.

Commie Dems are convinced they are above the law.

They have already asked “isn’t it time to forget the Consitution”, you know that old yellow document written by those old dead white guys?

FUBO! And you minions.

We shall see how this plays out.

That’s pretty pathetic when a state lawmaker says “the pro-Second Amendment community” and means it in a disparaging way. The 2nd amendment is the law of the land. Anyone who’s not pro-Second Amendment is an enemy of this nation.

To be anti-2nd Amendment is, by nature, to be anti-Constitution.

Coming soon.

Out-migration of responsible, law abiding, gun owning taxpayers from the once-Golden state.

The legislature will discover just how expensive these foolish and unnecessary "gun control" laws are in the form of lost tax revenue (including negative multiplier effects.)

Sadly for them, it will be too late; we're not coming back.

El Dorado County passed a second amendment resolution. Siskiyou has copied and augmented the resolution and it will be under consideration on Tuesday. Feel free to take it to your local counties for consideration.

http://www.co.siskiyou.ca.us/BOS/DOCS/agenda/2013/Questys/MG23629/AS23646/AI23782/DO23783/DO_23783.pdf

RESOLUTION NO.

OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SISKIYOU
IN SUPPORT OF THE SECOND AMENDMENT
AND THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS
‘””
WHEREAS, the American people have retained to themselves the right to “keep and bear arms” – a right not subject to infringement by Congress as is memorialized in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, as part of United States Bill of Rights, ratified on December 15, 1791; and,

WHEREAS, a landmark decisions issued by the United States Supreme Court in District of Columbia v. Heller established that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm from federal infringement unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that Arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as, but not limited to, self-defense within the home; and

WHEREAS, the Court in McDonald v. City of Chicago established that the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution extended protection of the individual right to keep and bear arms to the several States under due process provisions of that Amendment; and

WHEREAS, according to Merriam Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary, the word “infringement” means “an encroachment or trespass on a right or privilege” – in other words a violation or constraint upon a right; and,

WHEREAS, sadly, recent high profile events within our country have sparked discussions of gun-control at the local, state and federal levels, which have advanced proposed legislation which professes to address gun violence, while, in fact, infringes upon Second Amendment rights - (this has included numerous gun and ammunition control proposals, outright gun bans as well as registration schemes that would convert the right into a revocable privilege); and,

WHEREAS, the County of Siskiyou’s economy is supported by family ranching, farming and natural resource businesses, and that the right to keep and bear Arms is fundamental to our right to protect our families, our property, our livestock, and our livelihood; and,

WHEREAS, as a “frontier county,” hunting for food is a practice among many residents and, as a sport, hunting makes an important contribution to the local economy; and,

WHEREAS, the residents of this County respect the rights protected by the Second Amendment through the recognition and support of responsible firearm ownership, training and awareness; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Siskiyou supports all discussions seeking new ideas to protect our citizens from violence but cannot abide by any order, provision, law or agency initiative that violates the protections of the Second Amendment.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Siskiyou County at a regular meeting of said Board,
held the ____day of February, 2013, by the following vote of said Board:

This needs to be fought on multi fronts. Laws passed must be challenged in the Federal Courts. More Counties need to stand firm and tell the State that they will not allow State officials to use the color of authority of violate the civil rights of its citizens. There needs to be multiple recalls against as many Assemblymen and State Senators as is possible. It will only take a couple of recalls and the rest will STFU for a few years. Who knows, maybe even Brown can be recalled.

The gun industry "is very adept at exploiting the fine print and finding ways to get around the letter of the law," said state Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento...

Those damned free people, both gun mfgrs and owners, who think that if we want to legislate something, we should write it down accurately!! What nerve they got!

He says reduce the 2A to his ideal so fascist murderers can rain his fury down on society, leaving us the only option of cowering fearfully as wait the 20 minutes or so it takes the police to arrive en masse in answer to gunshots.

FO off you imbecile and die. Afterward, May God grant you solemnity, crisp, asbo burn in hell.

They have already asked “isn’t it time to forget the Consitution”

Since it protects me from the goobermint, or at least tries to, NO, it'll NEVER be time to forget it! In fact, with the tyrants we got running the show now, we need about 30 new rights ("negative rights") codified in the new improved Bill of Rights, and the ones that are there made plain enough so an Obama voter can understand them.

Imagine that, the Lee-Enfield SMLE is bolt action, MAGAZINE FED. So it is banned?

I would love to hear one person get up and say “Pass all the laws you want. I refuse to surrender my 2A rights.”

Really, how much more can law-abiding citizens take before CW2?
