From what I gather he knew his discharge date was last Friday so the weeks and month leading up to it were just giving him time to let the hate grow. Then you get the final rambling, scrambled part of the opus.
I'm sure his cell phone is gone and any electronics he has is gone. So if he "planned" this out his credit card and spending habits could provide clues to stores, caches, safe houses, etc. Cause if he thought this out he either needs to hide in plain site, with family help but not with them and in his old hoods. I'm thinking that the black population in LA is going to just possibly help or "not snitch". After all, all civilians have immunity, the police are the prey. So why risk your neck for a police department that abuses you and possibly die if the big guy decides you're going to snitch. Lose-Lose for the civilians.
I think he's going to lay low with maybe a target of opportunity far away from his hide if it presents itself and I'd be very surprised if he ever sees daylight.
So from what I remember he needs shelter, water, food, and then the "extras". I doubt a MANPAD... just stupid psyop bs. Even a .50 is risky if you think about it. Fire that in a city or ANYWHERE and everybody will know where you are. Nah, I'm thinking he'll use the suppressed weapon he has either a rifle or pistol in close. I doubt that we'll see any LAPD stopping at donut shops, fast food shops, traffic lights or stop signs for the foreseeable future.
Now it just depends on how crazy this dude is. He's basically in solitary and after a couple of days of no human contact he's gonna get a little lonely. After 1-2 weeks of hiding he'll make his first move just to test the waters.
What do you all think? Do you think he's prepped or just went bat sh#t crazy and started the blood bath.
The other thing is if this guy is on meds and steroids.
Depends on the person. I'm perfectly good alone (just me and Jesus) in the mountains for up to a year at a time.
Different people are... well.... different. Some will take it, some won't. Even here near a city, I go days without human contact, and I'm great with that.

I think your analysis is pretty close.
One of the things about psychotics is that they act rationally within the context of their psychosis. I think he’ll realize that his desire for fame and “justice” has evolved into a need to hide out and have no impact on the “story” he wants to write. I don’t think that’ll be acceptable to him, so if he’s still alive I expect to hear something from him by the end of the weekend.
To the 50, and the manpad, I’d add the “training in police tactics” to the factors that don’t really figure to be involved here. The vast majority of tactics have just involved from experience and they’ve been adopted because they work. Whether you know they’re going to (for example) surround you and wait you out doesn’t really give you any advantage. Knowledge of the system from an operational standpoint may provide some utility in target selection, but that’s about it.
As usual, YMMV. Nobody knows nothing ‘til they know something. The guy could be face down in a snow drift, or sipping umbrella drinks in Ensenada by now.
I think he has made preps & plans . He also has training in Escape & Evasion from time in the service. He will probably have at least one scanner type radio to be able to gather intel about were the cops are & how they are coordinating the search if he is even still in the area.
His pick-up is a burned out hulk but what about an Enduro type motorcycle? You can go either off road or ride down the street with them ,small , fairly easy to hide , decent range on a full tank of fuel and the cops aren’t looking for one .
After reading about his extensive inland waterway military training my first thought was this guy will head deep into the Sacramento Delta, I grew up there on one of the islands, miles and miles of hidden sloughs and places to hide a houseboat.
If he had a plan, it hasn’t gone like clockwork, I gather. I understand that he tried to steal a boat somewhere and that didn’t come off.
