Yep, .50 BMG I picked up from the sand at Ft Irwin. Found the slug laying somewhere else, is very good shape. Cleaned and polished them for conversation pieces. Had to convince the wife it was already fired, dead primer, etc.

Should have scored a 25mm Bushmaster case and maybe a 30mm GAU if I found them. Not supposed to filch souvenirs, but what the hell.......

My 87 year old father has a few 50bmg’s still in the chain. He brought them back from Europe after WWII.

He was an armorer and worked on Bofors and Quad-50’s. 4 50’s in a turret are pretty awesome.

But today the military has high speed gatlin guns like they put on the AC-130-H gunships. That is firepower.

Then there are the cannons on the Wart Hog. BAD.
