(CBS) The death toll of young Chicagoans to urban violence appears to be taking a toll on the mayor.
In the days since the murder of 15 year-old Hadiya Pendleton, Rahm Emanuel has twice been overcome with emotion.
On Thursday, there were tears in his eyes as he talked about violence plaguing inner-city youth.

He and Jesse Jackson do NOT need to invite Obama to come to the Chicago.
Obama’s got nothing. He IS a successful Chicago politician after all. That says all you and anyone needs to know.
They should ask Dr. Benjamin Carson Sr to come speak to them - and then they should LISTEN to him!
That might do some good.
Quit your dang crying and actually do something that will work you fairy!
The tears are for himself, because he looks bad, more and more of the country knows about Chicago’s crime problem and murder rate, it doesn’t help him, it doesn’t help his Master Obama, and above all, he’s in over his head in a way that only someone whose ideology positively PROHIBITS him for doing anything to harness this problem can be.
Social conservatives need to step in and point out that in 1910, the US had about 100 million people, 80 percent were poor (small farmers, factory workers),20 percent cannot read, only 6 percent graduate from High School, women and nonwhites were not treated equal, no gun regulations or limits on what you can own, yet the entire number of murders for the year was 230 (Chicago alone has over 500 murders). What did the Americans of 1912 have that with little or no gun regulations, less education and material wealth that prevented them from killing each other like we do today. According to liberal thinking such an armed, poor, less educated society should not be peaceful, yet it is more peaceful compared to our more advanced and materially better off society. Social libertarians need to ponder on this as well as Dems.
Perfectly said, especially the last part. Also fits Governor Potatohead and the state’s looming fiscal disaster...I saw him on a local news program a couple of nights ago, and he looked both insincere and scared sh*tless.
