Well, I won’t go as far as Rove, but I do think we conservatives need to do a better job vetting our candidates. Akin, Angle, Christine O’Donnell - these were all first-class political train wrecks. I absolutely believe conservatives can win general elections, but we need to look long and hard at what they’re about and whether or not they are ready for the spotlight.

(You might very well think that. I could not *possibly* comment.)

Sorry you’re all wrong about Christine O’Donnell.
She should have been a winner.
Rove did her in. It was that election which started me against Rove.

I agree. Those three were known trouble beforehand. However establishment candidates (including Akin) lost too. Pete Hoekstra, Tommy Thompson, the guy in North Dakota, Connie Mack, etc.
We need good candidates, period.

All we need to do is clone Ted Cruz, like the Empire cloned Storm Troopers.

Akin, Angle, Christine ODonnell - these were all first-class political train wrecks There was little wrong with Akin or (to a lesser degree) O'Donnell that wouldn't have been fixed by a good candidate training program for how to handle the media and the inevitable "gotcha" questions.
Angle was doing pretty well, actually, for a relative novice -- nothing she would have done would have been able to top the Reid/Casino/Mafia fraud.
