With 911 not responding to the “lesser” crimes of vehicle theft, garage burglary or simple assault, there is bound to be a very huge repercussion to the people living there, and that the government officials haven’t even thought about or don’t care to mention.
The repercussion is that where, insurance rates will have to go up tremendously if anyone wants to protect their vehicles and homes. Also, those suffering injuries because of “simple assault” might need medical care, and medical insurers will have to bring the cost of medical coverage up, since there will be a lot more “simple assaults” occurring.
Some companies might opt not to offer vehicle theft coverage in Chicago, or home insurance, or they could leave the city altogether.
The police have not responded to burglaries or thefts in our city for years now. They tell you to fill out a report online for insurance purposes. If insurance did not need the report the police probably wouldn’t even do a report.
Pathetic.
