I lived in SW CT back in 1987 when the last storm of this dimension hit the area, precisely 26 years ago. CT state highways were closed for three days, then state Governor Grasso closed things down statewide for three days as well. Commuter trains were stranded ... bottom line there was no where to go. Nine months later there was a significant uptick in new babies ... so the time at home was not completely lost.
