Dopey dads, too. You can make fun of dopey dads. Because everyone knows dad might do well enough professionally to set up his family in a 3,000 square foot colonial in the suburbs, but put him in the kitchen, and he’s going to end up cracking raw eggs into the toaster, putting his flip-flops in the blender, milking the cat, etc.
Women generally want to marry men they admire, men who are AT LEAST as capable as themselves.
How many women on FR consider the man they married to be a doofus? Or even significantly less intelligent than themselves?
Isn't that the truth?
Thank you! Because this is one of my pet peeves, especially in commercials. Smart wife, worldly kids, dumb dad. Total sterotypes, in 60 seconds or less.
WBill Jr. and I were recently bachelors for a long weekend while my wife went out of town. We missed her, and were glad when she came home, but...
We had a blast, no problems at all. No pets were harmed, the house was clean and still standing when she got home, chores were completed, baths were still taken, meals were (mostly) nutritious, we went to bed on time, etc etc etc.
However, at least 1/2 dozen people have expressed incredulity that *I* could handle such an enormous task. Or worse, referred to it as "babysitting". I'm my son's father, dammit, and while I'm thoroughly appreciative of all my wife does, I'm still quite capable of handling a weekend without her.
