Ever hear the expression “bet your job”? Well, Morris did, and lost.

I know most FReepers hate both Morris and Rove, there’s really no comparison, given Rove’s campaign and WH experience. Morris has been a book/tv hack much longer than he worked for Clinton.

No...no comparison. Rove is MUCH MORE dangerous to the conservative movement than Morris is. He is an enemy of the conservative wing of the GOP. Morris is not.

MUCH MORE.

I don’t really get your point. It wouldn’t matter if Morris had been with Clinton only a day were he a good tv hack. Likewise, I don’t care if Rove was Cardinal Richelieu if he sucks on tv, which he does. Judging which one sucks worse is like arguing over how many angels can fit on the head of a pin.

There has been a strong tendency for politicians to slide on over into news commentary, or straight news if they’re still libs like Stefapopolus. But I don’t see any real connection between having been the architect of Bushy failure for eight years and commenting on the day’s events. Unless they were to bring their unique knowledge of “inside baseball” to bear. Either they don’t, or inside politics is just as hiring as superficial politics. Either way, I don’t see any advantage to Rove’s having been within the halls of power longer.
