House Majority Leader Eric Cantor attempted to project a softer Republican tone on immigration during a speech at the American Enterprise Institute on Tuesday, but indicated there is a ways to go until Republicans and Democrats agree on an overhaul of the nation's immigration laws.
Cantor, the second-ranking House Republican, endorsed a path to citizenship for DREAMers, the undocumented young people brought to the United States as children.

'Whatever we do with these people who are not here legally, it MUST NOT include the right to vote. EVER.'
Well B/W,
...LET'S BE FAIR..how about just a temporary permittancy arrangement? ...Under this arrangement the illegal aliens get just a TEMPORARY permit to vote...whilst they're slogging over a stony stony road which leads inexorably over and up a tough, vertical mountainous shining path to full throated US citizenship?...And along the way with that could we include a temporary right to full food stamp and medicaid/ssi participation?.... Under this arrangement the problem will actually, likely solve itself, because after awhile, nobody will remember what's temporary and what ain't...Onlyest thing is the US will become be just one over large California quicksand pit fulla of Takin Takers...n damn few Makin Makers..... I will tell you this ....I ang writin' my congressmang on it primero cosa manana. VAYA con DIOS...burro..

I will never vote for anyone with an “r” behind his name. The republicans want to get rid of conservatives. So, I say give them what they want. Go somewhere else or stay home and let the GOP die.

I agree with you completely. I think they’re all perfect examples of Republicans, but unfortunately conservatism is something they haven’t become acquainted with. All they can do is give it occasional lip service. They’re CINOS.

My God, it’s like Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Little Lindsey Graham must be distributing the “pods” that Schumer gave him and McCain.
Republicans in the House leadership are incredibly gullible!

Cantor was interviewed on Fox News. When asked if would find a way to spare the military from deep sequester cuts, he replied:
"Absolutely not!" But when it comes to handing out hundreds of Billions of dollars to illegals who broke our laws and invaded our county, he is very generous with your money.

Dumbest FReeper comment of the year.
What proportion of FReepers have ancesters who came over in the early 1900s? I’d wager close to 95 percent, if not more.
