This is absolutely not in the progressives’ play book. They will HAVE to find a way to stop it.

So far they are knocked back on their heels and reeling. But don’t count them out. I bet they are planning their assault on the industry as we type.

3.50 a gallon isn’t winning anything with me.

They tried the assault with scares about how fracking dirties ground water.

Unfortunately for them, there are very, very few credible examples of dangers. The attempts have gone nowhere. Thus fracking has gone gang-busters in the last couple of years.

I agree with you. The fact of the matter is that this will eventually be resolved one way or another by compulsion. Their position is so retrograde and Luddite, that in the long run it is most likely the left that will be obliterated.

Despite mocking Republicans viciously, for the “drill baby drill” mantra and claiming that it would take at least ten years to bring new oil and gas on line — here it is.

Despite their best efforts to *not* have a reliable oil and gas supply — here it is.

Despite all that, the Dems will soon be claiming credit for “making America energy self-sufficient”. It’s just a bit maddening.

At some point in the next four years I suspect that energy will be nationalized in the USA so that the government can take all the profits. Of course the profitability will largely disappear as bureaucracy replaces entrepreneurs and political considerations replace profit. America can then resume its decline into third world status.
