Yes... this AM on Fox & Friends, a close friend of the XNavy Seal mentioned that it helps tremendously to assist the person with PTSD to accompany him/her to do something familiar. He said it’s like taking an X basketball star to shoot hoops. You want to put the person back into an area of his life that he was trained skillfully for and that he would have been comfortable doing. The man I saw this AM was very sincere in that statement, as they asked him exactly your question.

That makes sense, but I guess one needs to consider the inherent risks of doing so at a shooting range with someone who is already unstable.

Clearly it didn’t work in this case and in the future, people need to consider the stability of a PTSD person before going shooting with them.
