“Kyle was thinking that the best way to break through PTSD is to put a gun in the hand of the veteran. DONT DO THIS. While it may be done with permission by an expert, PTSD is a complicated mental condition, and should only be dealt with by an amateur with kid gloves.”
The professionals already had their shot with this guy. Evidently, they thought he was okay to go to Haiti after his tour in Iraq. There’s a lot of people who suffered PTSD and can go to a gun range fine, including Dakota Meyer, the medal of honor winner.
I’d say the professionals missed this one, not Kyle. I’m sure Kyle wouldn’t have taken him to the range if he had known how bad he was. If the guy shouldn’t have been at the gun range, he shouldn’t have been allowed to use a car, a knife or anything else. In other words he should have been in a mental facility. He had at least one recent DUI. He could have taken out a lot of people while driving too.
I hear he’s applying for membership in the Westboro ‘Baptist Church’.
I think we all agree that Paul stupidly shot his mouth off and that the Marine really needs work on his head space and timing. But it is part of an even bigger problem.
After WWII, the media pushed the idea that soldiers returning from the war were dangerous. Which outside of a few incidents proved not to be the case. But Iraq and Afghanistan may actually be worse in the long run.
Some soldiers did more than a dozen tours. The relative number of PTSD cases is extraordinarily high. And while the “acute” effects are likely not going to be unusually high, the “chronic” effects are going to be like nothing ever seen before.
As a rule of thumb, half of PTSD cases spontaneously get better. The majority of the remainder have their own curve, with most having milder forms of disability; some needing extensive care; and a relative few that are mentally gone for good.
What an old fool, thank God his son isn’t like him.
This increases my loathing for RuPaul even more, if possible.
Ron Paul is right.
I detest Ron Paul.
While violence is never my first option I think Ron needs a swift kick in the nutz!
A horrible thing he said!
So, traumer, you think all American servicemembers deserve to be murdered?
No, no he isn’t. Anybody who thinks he is, is as stupid as he is.
Too bad Ron Paul is no longer in Congress, because he sure deserves to be censored for that disgusting tweet.
He would be celebrated by the Democrats.
No.
But he is philosophically correct.
What do you mean by “philosophically correct”? That a military servicember is “living by the sword” and therefore should “die by the sword”?
IOW you think snipers should be murdered?
I don’t see any other conclusion.
APparently you and RPaul think that the military are doing evil murders and deserve to be murdered. If you don’t mean that, please explain.
“People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men {Like Chris Kyle} stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”
Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura filed a lawsuit last year accusing Kyle of defaming him in the book by exaggerating his description of a fight between the two at the wake for SEAL Mikey Monsoor, who was killed in Iraq in 2006.
The book quoted Ventura, also a Navy veteran, as saying he “hates America” and telling Kyle, who was mourning the death of a SEAL teammate, “You deserve to lose a few.” Kyle described punching Ventura out at the Coronado, California, bar.
In the suit, Ventura denied making the statements in the book, contending that “the entire story about a confrontation with and physical assault and battery of Governor Ventura was false and defamatory.”
Karma is a bitch....
Whatever happened or did not happen between Ventura and Kyle has not a damn thing to do with his murder, nor your irrelevant quote. And your further comments clearly show that you think Kyle deserved to be murdered.
You’re a nasty little thing.
From February.
Thanks Innovative.
Seconded.
