Rove Declares War on Tea Party

The battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party has begun. On one side is the Tea Party. On the other side stand Karl Rove and his establishment team, posing as tacticians while quietly undermining conservatism.

Yesterday, the New York Times reported that the “biggest donors in the Republican Party” have joined forces with Karl Rove and Steven J. Law, president of American Crossroads, to create the Conservative Victory Project. The Times reports that this new group will dedicate itself to “recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the party’s effort to win control of the Senate.” The group points to candidates like Christine O’Donnell in Delaware and Richard Mourdock in Indiana as examples of Tea Party primary picks going sideways in major Senatorial battles.

Rove and Law should not dismiss the Tea Party so quickly...Rove did not come across as "the brilliant political architect" after this last election...he steered a lot of people in the wrong direction. And the Tea Party needs to stop trying to over-reach...they need to stand firm on the spending and smaller government. Both groups should work together starting now...IMHO. Thoughts?

Just incredible . . . and since he firmly ensconced at FOX News (ala Hannity), he get all kinds of credibility.

Pathetic.

We have to fight. We have no television media to fight with, though.

You are assuming both sides have common objectives. The Tea Party does need to focus on spending and smaller government. Neither Karl Rove nor the DCRNC care about those issues. Not sure there is common ground. Winning elections would seem to be where our goals intersect, but I am not sure the DCRNC’s primary goal is winning elections in the same manner we define winning. They want to win enough seats to get committee chairs. No policy goals...just to get their slice of the graft.

Well you’re right about Rove, but it’s bullshit to call Todd Akin, a six term incumbent, as a tea party outisder. He’s just dumb. Mourdock is legit a tea party mistake, but the establishment makes many more mistakes.

Here is how we fight BACK at ROVE: been in the works for months:

Emperor Rove would have ignored Yamamoto as well.

"In the first six to twelve months of a war with the United States and Great Britain I will run wild and win victory upon victory. But then, if the war continues after that, I have no expectation of success."

"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass."

"I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

And that is an excellent point, this is a new movement, we are going to make mistakes, Akin and Mourdock are examples.
But we are also doing thing right-the 2010 elections showed that.

Every time I hear Hannity call the idiot "the architect," I get sick to my stomach. Where this fat fool's credibility comes from is beyond me.

Somehow, we gotta' hoist up Palin, Santorum, Rubio, and other conservatives to a very high level, and it won't be easy.

Karl Rove is such political poison that you have to wonder if he is a Soros Stooge.

If his liberal RINO candidates win primaries, they will lose general elections as the Dems tie them to Bush/Rove.

Tea Party just needs to keep active and keep pushing.

Greaseball was never a genius, except at self promotion. A toady on stilts, able to turn golden opportunities into tinny marginal wins, or leaden defeats. More Arsonist than Architect.

Without a doubt, the tea party, or base or conservative or Reagan Republicans, whatever you want to call them, are the only future the GOP has. The establishment and Rove are jurassic.

But we need to remember our roots? What were they? They were anti government roots, named by Rick Santelli in response to mortgage payers bailing out mortgage dead beats, and mostly inspired by Obama Care. A lot more has been added around the edges, but anti big government is the foundation.

Angle was a mistake, as was Mourdock. O Donnell didn’t matter, because Delaware was going to be a disater regardless. Meanwhile, Cruz, Johnson, Walker, Rubio (at the time), Rand Paul, West, many other congressmen, hundreds of state legislators, are amazing successes.

And FTR, too many tea party and too many Freepers fell for the bullsh-t that Akin was one of us. He was not. The establishment hated him, but they happened to be right on that count. Two great people were defeated by Akin thanks to votes from Democrats ,and unthinking tea partiers.

Akin and Murdoch were not the big mistakes. The biggest Tea Party mistake is tying to Marco Rubio.....who is really a big govt statist

Well what has the score been so far ? Whenever the Establishment is involved in an election, the election is lost. Instead it is time for war against the Establishment and run them out !

“Tea Party just needs to keep active and keep pushing.”

So true. Let the Geriatric Old Plotters rot in place. Those who would increase liberty and shrink government need to quit feeding either the Menshevik or the Bolshevik party.

Tokyo Rove has been undermining conservatism for years. At least now he won’t be spouting it on Fox News 24/7.

That’s nonsense, and Rove will look like a genius thanks to opinons like that. With Rubio, you have to measure him against Charlie Crist, not against perfection, or not against Reagan. HE REMOVED CHARLIE CRIST and encouraged a nation full of tea party candidates by doing so. Yes, he’s problematic now, but Jesus is not running for Senate from Florida.

Akin and Mourdock are silly, careless, inarticulate buffoons. So what if they believe the right things? My son believes the right things, but he’s not ready for the Senate yet. This lowest common denominator crap has GOT TO STOP or Rove will never be proven wrong. And 99% of the time he is.
