But neither the BSA nor the GSA have exclusive right to the word "scouting."

But you may have missed my point by focusing on the name. I was talking about preserving the concept. A new name can be created, tweaked, played with, on and on.

I don’t think I’d place my money on not being taken to court over the use of any derivative of the word. You are correct that we should not be hung up on the name and focus on the larger beneficial aspects that bring value.
