New York Times columnist Paul Krugman on Sunday once again perfectly illustrated the intolerance of America's liberal media.
Appearing on ABC's This Week, he said the National Rifle Association is - and I quote! - "an insane organization" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Krugman: NRA Is 'An Insane Organization'
PAUL KRUGMAN, NEW YORK TIMES: But what really strikes me -- I don't know how this plays, you know, what will happen. What strikes me is we've actually gotten a glimpse into the mindset, though, of the pro-gun people and we've seen certainly Wayne LaPierre and some of these others. It's bizarre. They have this vision that we're living in a "Mad Max" movie and that nothing can be done about it, that America cannot manage unless everybody's prepared to shoot intruders, that -- the idea that we have a police forces that provides public safety is somehow totally impractical, despite the fact that, you know, that is, in fact, the way we live.
So I think that the terms of the debate have shifted. Now the craziness of the extreme pro-gun lobby has been revealed, and that has got to move the debate and got to move the legislation at least to some degree.
A few minutes later, former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina pushed back:
CARLY FIORINA, FORMER CEO HEWLETT PACKARD: Paul said something that's illustrative of what I meant when I said people overplay their hands. What Paul just did was lump everybody together as a crazy radical gun-owner.KRUGMAN: Not true.
FIORINA: Yes. So you're condemning people...
KRUGMAN: No, there are plenty of gun-owners who are fine. But the lobbying groups, the NRA is now revealed as an insane organization, and that matters quite a lot.
FIORINA: I said at the outset, I think the NRA overplayed its hand a bit.
KRUGMAN: More than that.
FIORINA: I think...
KRUGMAN: More than just overplaying its hand.
FIORINA: ... we should support universal background checks. On the other hand, we need to say that if -- let's just say Dianne Feinstein's bill passed banning assault weapons. It won't do anything to solve the problem.
Wow! A New York Times columnist said on national television Sunday that the NRA is "an insane organization," and the only person that pushed back was Fiorina.
Why didn't host George Stephanopoulos step in a challenge Krugman for going so far?
Likely, it's because Stephanopoulos agreed with him.
Says a lot about today's media, doesn't it?
What a grotty little man.
Did I miss something? The NRA overplayed its hand?
Folks, as a former liberal let me tell you no matter what we conservatives do, help old ladies cross the street, rescue cats out of trees, kiss a dozen cute little babies a day, eat all our vegetables and brush our teeth before we go to bed we’re going to be branded as ‘’lunatics’’, ‘’crazies’’, no matter how we comport ourselves. If you don’t mind having to maybe face an assault charge(unless of course there are no witnesses) don’t try and argue with liberals and Lefties. Just punch them in the mouth, seriously. I wish someone would have done it to me, I’d have wised up sooner. I’m so bloody sick of listening to these a-holes. The Marxist they put back in The White House is going to impoverish us all, it’s only a matter of two or three more years and the poop is going to hit the fan and the Great Depression of the 1930s will look like a garden party. It’s like waiting for a death sentence and it’s idiots like Krugman who are responsible for it. I’ve got a father(who proudly calls himself a fascist) two kid brothers and one sister who are liberals and I can’t stand them. I love them but I don’t like them.
So what exactly has Paul ever done other than ran his mouth?
Like I need to listen to another know it all with Zero expertise on which they blovate!
Krugman is an “economist” whose expertise is unlimited.
Right? I’m telling you I have less patience everyday listening to these idiots and I’m wearing holes in the knees of my pants praying to God for patience and understanding in dealing with these m’fers. And I’ve got family members who are eating up every bit of crap Obama comes out with. You can’t believe it until you actually see it. Their eyes glaze over and they’re transported to some other world(”ObamaWorld’’ or whatever) and they refuse to hear anything to the contrary . To the point of being pugnacious which is why my youngest brother and I haven’t spoken to each other since our mother died six years ago. I could literally put his head through a wall and I know he’d like to do the same with me. My wife sat at Christmas time talking with my Dad in a very general way speaking about the current economic condition and my Dad was ‘’I don’t know why it’s like this’’ and ‘’Yes things are really bad right now’’. Later on my wife said to me “I couldn’t believe it! “He just doesn’t get it!’’ she said. “He has no clue as to what he’s done by voting for Obama!’’. I said, “honey, welcome to the mind of a liberal’’.
Go to Hell and Burn.
I draw the line and the rhetoric, divorced from reality, will absolutely be met with even greater strength to end your insurrectionist usurpations ....
Whack job
This is rich. Paul Krugman calling someone else insane. Pot, meet kettle.
What accredited psychiatric expert made the determination, Krugman, you halfwit.
How dare you abuse Georgie Clintonopoulos like that! He has very serious responsibilities and has for years .... such as returning all those phone calls from Rahm Emmanuel and James "Serpent Head" Carville.
(Over 400 calls/day by cell alone, among Carville, Begala, Emmanuel, and Clintonopoulos, in the first month of the Obama Administration. This from Breitbart, via FOIA request for cell records. Just to remind folks.)
“The NRA is an insane organization.”
And the Progressive movement is populated by subversive,
adolescent, psychotic individuals who are he**-bent on controling everything and everyone and most willing to
“re-educate” the population to conform to their party line.
IMHO
