A 9-year-old boy was clinging to life after a callous teen neighbor chucked him off the roof of their five-story Bronx apartment building, cops said Saturday.
The young boy, Freddy Martin, cried for his mother as soon as he landed on the cold concrete sidewalk in front of the Nelson Ave. building in Morris Heights about 8:30 p.m. Friday, neighbors said.
“Mommy! Mommy!” the bloodied child wailed as he lay on the ground, unable to move.

What was supposedly copied didn’t impugn George Zimmerman in any case. The fellow, according to best circumstantial evidence, was in a drugged paranoia. Maybe George should have picked up on this... but George treated Trayvon like a normal kid, asking him questions. As I look at it 12 hours later, I am also struck by the use of the word "chuck." Kind of like tossing an empty Skittles bag into a trash can.
The authors, Matt and Joe, must have been yucking it up trying to outdo each other with clever phrasing while they wrote this after a few beers for Saturday lunch.
I wonder if Carmine Aska was looking to do a little child molesting. He looks kind of, uh, “fashionable.”

The 9-year-old, who looks like a “white Hispanic” (his grandfather Juan speaks only Spanish) remained conscious long enough to give the name of the person who threw him off the roof. Otherwise the cops might have thought that the kid fell off the fire escape accidentally...unless a neighbor had seen what happened and was brave enough to tell the police. If the fall had killed the kid, as it easily could have, the perpetrator might have gotten away undetected.
