Over the last 30 years of global warming, the sun has shown a slight cooling trend. Sun and climate are going in opposite directions. This has led a number of scientists independently concluding that the sun cannot be the cause of recent global warming.
One of the most common and persistent climate myths is that the sun is the cause. This argument is made by cherry picking the data - showing past periods when sun and climate move together but ignoring the last few decades when the two diverge.

"This argument is made by cherry picking the data " And you're not cherry picking the data?. I generally ignore any charts with a suppressed zero. Both lines on your chart have a suppressed zero. I am also highly skeptical of any data from NASA GISS. Their history of altering history is well known. See this chart from JoNova showing a complete REVERSAL in historical data: http://jonova.s3.amazonaws.com/graphs/giss/hansen-giss-1940-1980.gif
BTW welcome to Free Republic. Hope to see you for more than a day.

On the local news, when they show the high and low temperatures for the day, they also show the record high and low temp. Very often the record temps are from 50-60 years ago and there is sometimes a 20+ degree difference in both. Where was Alwhore then?
And speaking of Al, watching him defending to selling out to Al Jazzera reminds me of George Costanza. “It isn’t a lie if you believe it.”

Welcome to FR.
Let's for the sake of argument, that the data in that chart is correct. What can you, me, the government of the whole world do about it?
Easy answer, nothing.
