Imagine they have psych experts devoted to the cause that scour the web for posts by insane people. Then use psychology to get those politically useful people to attack. If the shooter and hard drive is gone, there's no evidence.

Well, Palestinian terror groups have been known to scour the fruit markets for unbalanced people to use as martyrs, or for disgraced teenagers who have no hope and have been rejected by their families over some sin in their past, or for drug users, and offer them an "honorable" way out of their situation, promising a hero's funeral and money to their families. Then the PLO gives them more drugs to push them over completely.

But there have always been nutjobs, and there are often more nutjobs is bad economic times than in good times because people are under more stress, so it would be difficult to prove if there has been any "influencing" going on until someone gets an offer and refuses it, as have some Palestinians, by backing out at the last moment and warning Israelis they'd been loaded up with explosives, getting help. That's when the palestinians came up with the cell phone detonator, so the mule can't back out at the last minute.
