Why is his phone tracking his movements and who has access to that information? Things to keep you up at night. I know basically nothing about cellphones but I do know that mine is capable,through google,of tracking my location.One must check several approval boxes to set it up but it works surprisingly well.

It does work, but it drains the carp out of the battery. Which may explain a lot here.

I know basically nothing about cellphones but I do know that mine is capable,through google,of tracking my location. Your phone always know exactly where you are, or turn by turn navigation would not be possible.
The question is whether the phone records the exact data. It does for a fact record data points that are used for the phone to locate cell towers. I once had a utility to download that file and impose the points onto a map. They all promised to quit doing that but I doubt they did.
They for sure can know any phone calls he made and any txt messages that were sent.
