POLL: Gov. Cuomo Suffers 15 Point Drop in Approval After Passing New Gun Laws

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo experienced a sharp drop in approval after pushing through tough new gun laws, according to a poll conducted by Quinnipiac University.

Cuomo, who last month had an all-time high job approval of 74 percent, saw that number drop to 59 percent.

The Quinnipiac poll also shows:

Voters in non-gun homes approve of the governor 68%-19%. Voters in households with a gun disapprove 50%-40%. Thirty-four percent of all voters say the gun-control package signed by Gov. Cuomo this month goes "too far" in restricting gun owners' rights while 30 percent say it does not go far enough in protecting public safety.

Thirty percent said the measure is "about right."

Given a choice between stricter gun laws and armed guards at schools, 48% said laws would do more to curb gun violence in schools, while 40 percent said armed guards would be more effective.

"With approval ratings that consistently topped 70 percent, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo had the political capital to spend when he set out to pass the toughest gun control laws in the nation," Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute said.

"It is possible that the gun law cost him some of that political capital, but a 2-1 job approval rating still makes him the envy of most governors," he said.

In other news, the sub-human filth US voter who does NOT approve of him WILL vote for him next time, and voted for the kenyan twice. Those who do NOT approve of him, will vote for him for the rest of their sub-human lives.

There is absolutely no correlation between Cuomo’s recent spate of restrictioins on guns and his popularity numbers.

It was all the fault of the effects of “climate change”.

If you believe that, I have an interest in a bridge over the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn, and it can be yours for a mere $500.

No worries! He’ll make up for it and double down on voter fraud!

His use of the word "envy" is absolutely wrong. How could anyone be envious of an idiot? Perhaps evil is the right word.

I wish that it was possible for Western New York to seceed from New York. I tired of sending my hard earned money, stolen from me in taxes by New York State, only to have it spent by the City of New York to make my life miserable.

Vince Flynn's “Term Limits” or John Ross’ “Unintended Consequences” come immediately to mind in the case of Andrew Cuomo.

LIke other Dems and Rinos, Cuomo knows he needs to get all the liberal legislation passed at the beginning of his term. He’ll return to conservative bills nearer to the next election. That’s how it works.
