“...why anybody in this room needs to have one of these assault-style weapons or military weapons or high-capacity clips.”
Because the 2nd Amendment says I CAN, and the amount of ammunition you need is DETERMINED AFTER THE GUN FIGHT.
Whether sincere or given to him to say there is an answer to his question. But people who live in urban do not understand it.
...why anybody in this room needs to have one of these assault-style weapons or military weapons or high-capacity clips.
Farmers need to do vermin hunting sometimes. A 30 round Bushmaster is better than most rifles for this.
If you are camping in the true wilderness you might want to have some protection. Not necessarily from criminals - but from bears. A Bushmaster does well for this.
If you rely on yourself for home protection as most rural dwellers do - a Bushmaster AR is a logical choice. Especially if your aim with a pistol is poor.
If you have coyotes and do not want your dog eaten - a Bushmaster AR does the trick nicely. They usually travel in packs. Do you want more than 10 rounds - you bet. 20 is good. 30 is better for this job.
Some people even do hunt with a Bushmaster style rifle. .223 and 5.56 are not as effective as a standard deer rifle - because they are less ‘powerful’ - but some do hunt with ARs and for smaller game the smaller projectile is preferred.
Josh Sugermann has vexxed our county with the scary ‘assault’ term.
Mechanically, operationally, functionally the AR type guns are the same as hunting rifles used everyday.
And yes, there are good, very good, reasons for people to have these.
The man seemed sincere but it has only been little over a month. Not a long grieving period. Yet the politicians leveraged the incident and him for their own good. They are the disgusting ones.
