I could not agree more. Really stop feeding the troops? Hubby and I spent seven years at overseas bases during his AF career and I saw many many civilian employees who were incompetent and lazy and who took 2 hour lunches and 5 day weekends. Please tell me why we aren’t firing these people so we can feed our deployed troops.

Cutting out those civilians is a wonderful idea instead of cutting those who are in the military.

“The United States Marine Corps is set to shed more than 20,000 active duty positions in the coming years and have already commenced a process meant to force some senior officers into an early retirement.

The Marines are on course to cut around 4,000 positions a year through 2017, decreasing the total number of Marines to 182,100 from its peak last year of 202,100, according to a major scale-down order that was quietly issued last year.”

Because they are UNION, and it quite litterally takes an act of congress to fire them.
