President Barack Obama has approved another $155 million in humanitarian aid for Syria and took the unusual step of taping a message with Arabic subtitles explaining the U.S. position.
"Here, I want to speak directly to the people of Syria," he says in the message. "This new aid will mean more warm clothing for children and medicine for the elderly; flour and wheat for your families and blankets, boots and stoves for those huddled in damaged buildings. It will mean health care for victims of sexual violence and field hospitals for the wounded. Even as we work to end the violence against you, this aid will help address some of the immediate needs you face each day.
"...Were under no illusions. The days ahead will continue to be very difficult. But whats clear is that the regime continues to weaken and lose control of territory. The opposition continues to grow stronger. More Syrians are standing up for their dignity.

did anyone get the translation of the arabic subtitles? Are we certain they matched the spoken English?
I hate giving POLITICO any traffic. They are one of the biggest cheerleaders for President Prick
not sure if the translations are correct but does anyone else find this creepy?
maybe it’s just me but I get the feeling this guy really sees himself as the savior of the world. Don’t worry I am here, I will feed you, clothe you and bring you comfort. Scary.
Why doesn’t he just speak to them in Arabic? He went to mosque as a kid and he no doubt knows how to speak Arabic.
In some future time with a new history of the world in which the calendar will begin on his birth day, this will be the epistle of devil Obama to the Syrians. “and it came to pass that the president of the US stated to the people of Syria rejoice as I am with you, in spirit....”
great...the Syrians will be getting this stuff before the Sandy victims.
