A group of sideshow drivers briefly shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 880 near the Coliseum in Oakland on Saturday afternoon while they burned rubber and did doughnuts.
Participants filmed the minutes-long stunt and posted it to YouTube. The videos show at least a half-dozen souped up cars stopping traffic.

When ghetto behavior (or lack thereof) spills out onto the freeway, it’s way past time to rein in these sociopaths.
But it will never happen, that would be racist...
(And they wonder why the tax base is evaporating from cities that tolerate these fools. Who are they gonna get to pick up the tab for their social programs and handouts now?)
You need to watch the video. “Ghetto” folks don’t drive cars like that.
When he yelled 5 0 I thought he was referring to Mustangs.
The mustang w/the hood scoop looked like A Mach 1. I own one of those & love it.
Old hot rodders/drag racers never die.
So if someone in an F350 Superduty with a giant push bumper came barging through, insurance cards would be exchanged for sure, right?
I did watch the video.
And I’ve seen the carnage from plenty of Oaktown side shows on International and MacArthur.
It’s ghetto behavior. I don’t care if it’s Asian kids trying to mimic authentically ghetto behavior, it’s still ghetto.
I live in the area. Do you?
If your video goes viral you can make a boat load of money. Expect more of this crap.
Now, every good ol' boy down South and his buddies with hot rods are "ghetto." Not buying it.
I would have loved seeing a couple of tractor trailers come roaring through those a- holes!

that’d be a nice Darwin Award for their family to display.
“couldn’t see them for all the smoke”.
Perhaps a dumb question, but...
did they remove/cover their plates before this “performance”? Hard to tell in the vid...
and if they did not, would these be stolen cars?
With all the young dudes filming it, it sure looks to me like this was done as a Youtube stunt.
Detectives should have an easy time tracking down the people who post the videos.
Actually, a lot of hood types drive stuff pretty close to that in that particular area. I’ve worked that freeway segment there for more than a decade as an on-call consultant for Caltrans.
I’ll grant you “hood types.” But “ghetto” cannot afford that kind of horsepower.
Ghetto is as ghetto does.
Of course, when the word means nothing. Ghetto is everything, then. /s
