Iran has successfully launched a rocket carrying a monkey into space, according to Iranian state media, in what Iranian officials call a "prelude to sending humans into space."
The monkey was sent in an "indigenous bio-capsule" called Pishgam, which is Farsi for "Pioneer," according to Iran's Press TV. Pishgam reached an altitude of more than 75 miles and made a successful return, according to Iranian news agency Fars.
The head of Iran's space agency, Hamid Fazeli, said that Iran decided to send a monkey "because of biological similarities between humans and monkeys," according to Press TV. Iran's space agency had previously launched a test capsule designed to house the monkey in 2011.
Press TV billed the successful launch as a step toward being able to send humans into space, which Fazeli said will occur within the next five to eight years.

Was it wearing a dinner jacket?
No, Ahmadipwad.
I thought Obama had other plans today.
Well, yes, but Monkey Boy has a real beard. Bronco doesn’t have enough testosterone for whiskers.
First muslim in space.
Actually they did send an Iranian with the monkey.
Every day the Iranian would call in the status report and asked what his duties for the day were.
He was always told to ‘stand by’
Finally IASA (NASA in Iran?) sent him an emergency message:
“Feed the monkey and clean his litter box”
In the new UN free world society, they were the first to die.
The rocket was HUGE! Propellant used was camel dung mixed with women’s urine and oil. Very slow burning, but rapid enough for the job.
Before we write off this monkey business, does anybody, besides the Iranians know what the suborbital flight path of this rocket is?
What exactly is on board? Anybody thinking EMP attack?
Would the garbage in the the White Hut actually welcome such an attack?
According to islam aren’t monkeys and pigs all non-muslims?
