Proof the Left Wants All Guns Outlawed
American Thinker ^ | December 20, 2012 | Selwyn Duke

It has been said that to identify a liar, look for contradiction, because it's hard keeping lies straight.

It's no revelation that leftists would like to effect gun confiscation (except for themselves and their bodyguards, of course), but they generally maintain plausible deniability so that the world's Dirty Harry Reids can convince the flyover-country bitter clingers that they believe in the Second Amendment. And they certainly do - the way the Devil believes in God. Nonetheless, leftists sometimes tip their hand, and such is the case with a recent New York Post editorial.

The paper posits the idea that the "application of modern military design to civilian firearms" has produced weapons so dangerous that the Second Amendment is rendered obsolete. Of course, the editors are referring to what are incorrectly called "assault weapons," such as the AR-15-type rifle Adam Lanza used to do his evil in Newtown. And they take, or at least imply, a position that low-information voters would consider reasonable: they don't propose to outlaw all guns, just those dreaded "assault weapons" (that aren't). These, the editors say, are so deadly that it's "[t]ime to get rid of them."

Now we come to where they betrayed themselves. When describing Lanza's arsenal earlier in the op-ed, they noted that he had his rifle and, as they put it, "two equally deadly handguns."

Well, well, if they're equally deadly, why pick on the AR-15? Some guns must be more equal than others.

If the "assault rifles" (that aren't) are too deadly to be....

In the not too distant past, both England and Australia had terrible shootings like Sandy Hook. They allowed the government to use the hysteria to excuse their moves to restrict private gun ownership in the aftermath. Each nation quickly saw significant and long-term increases in numerous categories of violent crime. Guns make us safer, no matter how much the politicians and faint-hearted Liberals want to pretend otherwise.

WSJ article with details on those shooting

Where is the truth? And prove it, one way or the other.

There's no way to prove the facts of this incident (beyond the word of the M.E. and of the state police, both of which in highly-charged cases like this I would take with a large grain of salt), until the actual evidence and investigation paperwork is unsealed.

And that information is likely to remain sealed until this congressional session ends, don't you think?

The first semi-automatic rifle adopted and widely issued by a major military power (France) was the Fusil Automatique Modele 1917.

Don't forget the execrable Chauchat, introduced in 1907, which was a "machine gun" that was actually an "automatic rifle". Americans sometimes called it the "Sho-sho".

It jammed frequently (failure to extract) and was a dirt magnet -- the dirt then jamming the spent round in the chamber => failure to extract. It weighed 22 lb and was a beeotch to fire and aim properly. Please don't take my Chauchat away! (barf!)

Chauchat automatic rifle.

It ranks right up there with the military flail as one of the poorest weapons ever issued to fighting men.

“Assault weapons” are scary looking so easy to demonize, and it really is just emotional manipulation.

If they ban “assault weapons” the next ADHD drugged mass shooting will be with Joe Biden’s shotgun model, probably be even more gruesome if 00Buckshot is used, and the next ban is under way. And on and on.

They know it but are not honest enough to admit they want to ban all guns. But being lying deceitful tragedy exploiting, civil right denying, gun grabbing traitor communist is something they will deny to the end, no matter how the facts prove otherwise.,

Full auto is kind of a non-sequitur in regards to the modernity of semi-auto rifles such as the AR.

Obama is illegal because he is an admitted cocaine and marijuana abuser. He cannot be given a security clearance or own a firearm.
