Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is voicing confidence in the prospects for immigration reform in the House, saying that a bipartisan group of lawmakers basically [has] an agreement after more than three years of secret talks.
-snip-
Obama is preparing to launch a major push for comprehensive immigration reform with a speech in Las Vegas next week. Much of the spotlight has focused on the Senate, where a bipartisan group is reportedly close to announcing an agreement on basic principles for an overhaul of the system. That group now includes Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a potential presidential contender who laid out his principles for reform in the Wall Street Journal earlier this month.
Another potential White House aspirant, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), quickly signed on to Rubios outline.

How nice that they have “a deal” yet nobody out here in the citizenry knows what the hell it is.
I wonder if they are going to have to balls to actually put the language in the bill that this applies to hispanics and no one else?
Or, maybe like Miami airport where they make announcements in spanish first, they will put the bill in spanish so the hispanic invaders will get to read it first and beat all the others to the line.
I cannot describe how much I detest the entire elected body of this country now. Sell outs for votes and getting along. Nothing but entrenched ticks on what was once a great country. Looks much like Rome did during its fall from the top.
Great another secret committee. So much for a transparent congress and hashing out these things on the floor of the House and Senate like they are supposed to.
Let’s just for the sake of argument suppose that the premise of the story is true, that it’s a done deal, they can not only kiss goodbye any hope of rounding up guns, but they may very well get that civil war they’ve been spoiling for. And it won’t be neatly delineated by lines of lattitude, or confined to uniformed armies clashing in grassy meadows this time around.
I’ve already sent out an email and a tweet to my congressman and will call his office first thing in the morning. He’s got a pretty firm anti amnesty history so I feel pretty confident that he’ll oppose.
I personally think this “done deal” crap is the same attempt to manipulate that it has been in the past.
Rome gave amnesty and citizenship to the Barbarians and look what happened.
“I personally think this done deal crap is the same attempt to manipulate that it has been in the past.”
Yeh, me too. We went to our Rep’s townhall on Thurs and he said no way on Amnesty.
I despise Rubio and Boner.
Rubio is the worst. He pretends to be a conservative, and a lot of know nothings fawn over him. Disgusting.
If he cared 1/10th as much about citizens and defending the rights of US citizens as much as he cares about illegals, he might be ok.
In my mind, I would rather he be a Democrat than continue to sully the name of conservatism.
think of all the hard working, entrepreneurial, overtaxed, family centered voters that could be Republicans!
Bipartisan? What bull $%^t! When will the pubbies stop bending over? These job hungary political hacks continue selling us down the river.
EXACTLY, along with pilfering the public treasury.
Just as the Founders intended.
Yup. It's over. After they're finished emptying the till, I wonder what the RINOs are planning? I guess they figure they'll move to Switzerland, and leave the rest of us suckers behind.

With a near-depression economy and almost no good-paying jobs and they are going to do this? We and our children are being enslaved incrementally.
Sarah, you’re our last hope. We need you to found The Tea Party party.
Bi-Partisan=Reublicans have sold us out.
Secret deals= Anything done in secret is so shameful it cannot be done in public.
With Boehner and McConnell in the leadership, and people like McCain ,Graham, and other selling us out, we don’t have much of a chance.
So many people in here say McCain was a POW and we must respect him for that.Well he has worn out my respect.
To me he is dirt.
I am still scratching my head on why this weeper is still leading the spineless GOP,
It’s time for the Republican Party to go the way of the Whigs.
