He offered me the same channels plus about 20 more, internet included for $69 per month for 6 months, at which time it would increase to $89 per month. He said also, "come back in in 6 months and I'll see what else I can do for you to keep that bill down".

I might pull that routine this week.

Do it! I did it, they lowered my fee, then forgot about the promise to raise it in 6 months, then raised it a bit after a couple of years, promising to raise it higher after three months, and again forgot about it. I’m not joking.

WOO! HOO! I just got off the phone with Comcast. They knocked my cable bill back about $60 per month when I acted like I was terminating service. What they did is give me a Basic cable package BUT they threw in FREE HBO and Showtime which I have now so my cable services really won’t change for 6 months. Of course in 6 months, I will do the same thing again. So just making a simple phone call will save me about $700 per year.
