Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America Indoctrination

Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America Indoctrination

This video is 2 minutes 43 seconds. The title is self-explanatory. Our nation's children are not attending religiously neutral schools. They are forced to attend (and taxpayers are under police threat to fund) government owned and run ATHEIST schools.

Government owned and run, socialist-entitlement, single-payer K-12 schools have never been, and are not now, religiously, politically, or culturally neutral.

Please remember that it is ***impossible** to live in a philosophic state of religious neutrality. All humans must choose between either a godless or God-centered worldview. All schools must choose one of these religiously non-neutral worldviews in which to develop their curriculum and school policies. Government schools, must as well.

Conservatives! PLEASE WAKE UP!

Government school indoctrination threatens our nation's freedom. Organize with others. Work to shut down the government owned and run socialist-entitlement, single-payer, and godless schools. Let's begin the process of privatizing K-12 education in this nation. Work toward complete separation of school and state.

That being said...I am a born-again, bible-believing Christian and I have been gifted by God with the gift of teaching. I have seen God’s hand on my life calling me to the “challenge” of being a public school teacher (once, even trying, like Jonah, to flee from His call upon my life.) And, so, I teach. I teach in a public school. I do not teach the doctrines of Baal. I do not foster a climate of non-thinking, or of indoctrination in my classroom. Whenever possible (and I make it a point for this to be so), I present Godly examples, use God-honoring texts, challenge godless thought, enable those students who are Christian to feel well within their right (and duty) to speak their beliefs openly, without fear of reprisal.

Exactly make that EXACTLY. I would also add that I teach them that they have a duty and responsibility to stand up when their beliefs are challenged or impugned.

I followed a similar path. I got into teaching as a second career. After 10 years I went back into engineering, but couldn't get the teaching bug out of my system.

All of this has been challenged here at FR by those who would have everyone simply abandon the public schools. How easy to say, “Withdraw. Come out from among them (an actual biblical principle, though, here, misapplied.) How easy to abandon these “rat holes” and all the corruption that goes on within their walls. In truth, I HAVE abandoned the public schools...but I have not abandoned its students. I am serving my Savior by being there for them, to offer a bit of salt and light, to show them “a better way,” to counter the culture of declension that has propped itself up all around these kids. I have spoken about this here at FR, and have heard those who would say I am as much a problem as the public school itself. That my presence there offers “a form of godliness, but denies the power thereof.” That I must be somehow acting against the wishes of those in authority and therefore serving as a bad testimony.

There is a certain mindless drone here that accuses several of us of stalking him/her, instead of realizing that we are defending the truth. This person constantly say we have to "sneak" our faith in. Never mind that this person has never set foot into my class room and has no clue about how open I am about my faith.

God bless you and keep you and you students.

I don't know this for sure but is it not also true that if and when a child is diagnosed with a disability, that child becomes eligible for monthly checks from Uncle Sugar---either SSI or SS Disability?

Thank you for reminding me of this. This child has an older sister that was diagnosed.

Likewise, human nature (fallen human nature) leads people to blame everyone but themselves for what goes wrong with their own kids. While teachers in any kind of school have substantial responsibility for the academic success of the children they teach, the parents have the first teaching responsibility.

Years ago one of my sisters called me up literally in tears. She had received a call that the district wanted to test her son and have him evaluated for ADD/ ADHD. I told her that I would take care of the testing. I told he that I would pick him up at 9 am on Saturday.

I had a cooler o soda and some sandwiches. I took hm to a place that knew didn't have a single fish.I showed him how to bait a hook an cast out. I told him that if he talked or moved to much he would scare the fish. That child focused on fishing for almost three hours. He go up once to relieve himself behind the tree.

I dropped him off at my sisters house and told her that she had to tell the school the could test him only after they did an IQ test on him. About a week later she called m and said they wanted to skip him a grade. told her that was not an option either. The gifted and talented program is here he is today.

It is easier (all too easy) for the parent to just blame the teacher, blame failure of the student on some disability like ADD, etc., rather than turn off the TV, put down that beer, get off the telephone and participate actively in seeing to it that the homework gets done and that the student actually understands the work. The parent is the first tutor of the child. If necessary, the parent should hire a tutor in specific subjects.

It worked for Michael Oher. And while it may not be economically feasible there community programs through the YMCA, Boys and Girls clubs, and community centers. Our school has tutors come in after school from one of t local colleges.

One of the advantages that a private school has is that it can make demands upon the parents. I have known children who attended private schools that required that the parent(s) sign contracts promising to maintain reasonable learning environments in the home. I knew of one private school that insisted upon mandatory attendance by the parents at a monthly meeting. ( I attended one of the meetings.) and the main focus of the meeting was Christian parenting principles.

The fundamental problem with government schooling is that it is a godless and socialist-entitlement and compulsory-use program. One of the symptoms of the underlying pathology of the government system of socialist-entitlement schooling is that the teachers simply can not dish out the heaping gobs of common sense advice that is needed. If they did they would soon lose their jobs and ( maybe) even be sued for discrimination.

We should not be surprised that a nation that has subjected several generations of children to socialist and godless schooling to eventually have a nation of irresponsible parents. Look up the Barna Foundation studies. The chances of a Christian child maintaining their faith after 13 years of godless indoctrination in their godless and socialist schools is dismal! indeed!

Two more things:

I bet paychecks, pensions, and long vacations have nothing at all to do with God's calling to the teachers in the government schools. No not a bit. Yep! My bet is He wants children to forced to think and reason godlessly. Yep! I bet He wants citizens to be under the threat of police and court action to pay for this godless and socialist indoctrination of children. /s

Obamacare ( just like compulsory and socialist single-payer schooling) won't be so bad in the beginning. The reason will be due to the values of the health professionals trained in the old system. It will take 2 or three generations of socialist-entitlement and single-payer health care ( just as in socialist K-12 schooling) for the true horror of Obamacare to be fully manifested. Then, the same arguments used to defend and reform out socialist-entitlement K-12 schools will be used to attempt to defend and reform the socialist health care monster.

There are good Christian teachers in the government’s socialist system of schooling. They are teachers who do not send their kids into the godless government schools and who warn other parents ( at every opportunity) not to do so. I respect these people. They are **not** on these message boards defending the corrupt and godless system of socialist and godless indoctrination and they refuse to join the NEA. These good teachers work bring as much of a God-centered and traditional American worldview into the classroom as the godless law allows but fully recognize and ( tell others) that it is a godless and socialist system. They do NOT attempt to sneak religious belief into their classroom because they recognize that to do so teaches children that Christians are sneaky.

There are counties and states in this nation where, if Christians and Jews removed their children, the godless and socialist system of K-12 schooling would immediately collapse. And...It is true that if Christians and Jews ( along with Christian and Jewish teachers) united the godless and socialist system of government of K-12 school could be entirely shut down. Good government teachers would be eager to join such a movement even if it meant the loss of their government jobs, pensions, and benifits.

Another problem with the government system of godless and socialist-entitlement schooling is that it has created an educational-industrial complex. One of the major reasons we have so few church run schools is due to the huge numbers of parishoners who suck a living from that educational-industrial complex. This includes not only the employees of the socialist schools but also the vendor to the schools and their employees. Few ministers are brave enough to bite the hand putting money into the collection plate.

Yes, there are a few good government teachers out there. They are working tirelessly to encourage parents to remove their children from government schools and working, as much as their resources allow, to bring and end to the godless and socialist system of K-12 schooling.

Personally, except for a few on the Internet message boards, I have never met a good teacher in person.

That should be: parishioners.

What we have in public schools today is THE DIRECT RESULT OF ABANDONING our responsibly to ensure that America continues to produce a Godly heritage.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Godless government schooling is the very definition of abandoning a Godly heritage.

At their very best government schooling never offered the students more than a generic and lukewarm Protestant worldview. What was the danger in this? Answer: That the nations citizens would learn to see religion as a generic and lukewarm part of their lives.

By my grandmother's day, born in 1894, government schooling was nearly entirely secular with occasional nods in God's direction. By the time I graduated from school in the 60s it was entirely godless in its worldview.

We, as a nation, will have a hard time returning to God if we continue to send our nation's children into schools that teach a godless worldview.

“We, as a nation, will have a hard time returning to God if we continue to send our nation’s children into schools that teach a godless worldview.”

No. We, as a nation, will have a hard time returning to God if we continue to withdraw from the battlefield. You don’t win a fight by retreating, but by attacking. As long as you believe it is so, we will continue to see every area of America’s social fabric continue to fray (as it is already doing).

I agree that, insofar as it is within a person’s ability to homeschool their child, they should prayerfully consider doing so, but there are countless millions (look at that phrase very carefully - countless millions!) who have no such recourse. These folks WILL be taught. And many of them WILL BE TAUGHT in public schools. So, tend to your own, sure. But see to your community as well (love your neighbor as yourself). As much as it is within us to do, we need to strive to deliver to these children an education on a par with the instruction received in the Christian homeschool. Laws need to be challenged. Rights need to be asserted. Godly men and women need to recognize this area as a mission field. Boards of Education need to be held accountable. School officials need to be scrutinized. The books need to be opened and examined as to expenditures and waste. The disaster that is public school today must not continue, I agree. But, as it will continue, Godly men and women who are concerned about where all this godless education is taking us need to jump in and fight to win back our schools. Go to state charters and read what they say. The public schools ALL had to comply with idea of teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the children. No state could receive entry into the Union without agreeing to this. Sadly, American men and women (and Christian men and women at that) allowed this to slip away over time, one ruling by another, until the only thing not allowed into schools is the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

The task is a daunting one. How could we ever return? How can we undo so much pernicious deception and mismanagement of our educational system. How can we root out the socialists and radicals who call good evil and evil good? We can’t without effort. Is it a fight worth fighting? It is my belief that the struggle for our nation’s future, for the hearts and minds of its people is right there, in the public schools. It is where the fight is won or lost!

Lastly, this. We read in scripture that judgment will begin with the household of God. God will first deal with those who had the message that could change the world but for one reason or another, chose not to share it. How can we choose to hide our lamps under a bushel, when we have been called to set them on a lamp stand!

Yes and no......the disablity has to be life-limiting, medically based, and approved by SS. While the schools can diagnose a learning disability, they cannot diagnose a medical disability - that's for doctors.

That being said, there are whole sections of the country where the doctors and social workers seem to be on some odd sort of wavelength in that whole communities are getting "crazy checks' from SS - and in some cases these are for documented cases of ADHD. There was an article I read recently, that if I can find it I'll send it by private message, about a family where the social workers were encouraging the parents to NOT send the children to school because it would jeopardize the SSI checks if the kids were successful. They were being told to homeschool in some way - via internet, mail order, whatever means necessary.

That's fraud any way you look at it. In this case, it's the doctors playing into this fraud, along with the social workers, to permantly hobble kids and keep them from getting any kind of life skill

Perhaps we will need to respectfully and politely agree to disagree on this topic. I simply can not resolve the following conundrums.

( The following is absolutely and entirely **general** and applies to the problem of government schooling across this nation in **general**. It does NOT NOT NOT apply to you personally because your situation may, indeed, be unique. That is possible.)

Questions:

1) What opportunity (**within the law**) is there to **meaningfully** share the gospel in this godless government school setting? The Barna Foundation studies show that even Christian children have abysmal outcomes, on average, if they attend government schools. If it is this bad for children in highly active Christian homes, why would we think there would be any benefit for non-Christian children if we continue to support godless government schooling?

2) Should Christians be subjecting **children** of other people to a Christian worldview when many are in this government institution because of the law and its implied threat of police force? I simply never remember see in the scriptures Christ advocating that the Roman legions round up children, against their parents’ will, so these children could be subjected to His preaching?

3) Even if God were made a part of the government school worldview, then which denomination would be chosen? Which writings of which church philosophers would be included in the curriculum and woven into to the fabric of the class discussion and activities? Again, at their very best government schooling was never more than generically and lukewarmly Protestant in its worldview, and the danger with this is that the children risked learning to be lukewarm and generic.

The danger of sneaking religious principles into the godless classroom is twofold:

1) Children are in danger of learning that Christians are sneaky.
2) Children eventually learn that the government schools are by law godless. If they are subjected to Christian proselyizng they risk learning that Christians are lawbreakers.

I can never recall any government teacher who is Christian answering any of these questions. These questions are merely dismissed with a quick, “ I feel called by God”, and that ends the discussion. Gee! Who can argue with someone’s personal revelation from God?

So...Finally...Yes, there are good government teachers but these teachers are doing all they can to warn parents to avoid these godless government schools. They are working on the political level to see that private choices are being made available. They are lobbying their church leaders, warning them of the dangers of the godless government schools, and they are urging church leaders to form church schools within their communities. They are **within the law** making their classrooms as traditionally patriotic and somewhat minimally balanced regarding religion as possible.

Personally, I have never met a “good” government teacher in person. Some on the Internet claim to meet this criteria.

And...Personally, I consider godless and socialist-entitlement schooling to be so damaging to the child and such a threat to our freedom that I won't have a government teacher for a friend. I would make an exception if they met the criteria for being a “good” government teacher, but I have never met one. I have met plenty of Christian teachers who grumble about the conditions but never do anything more than support, uphold, and establish the existing godless and socialist abomination ( misnamed: “public” school).

( The following is absolutely and entirely **general** and applies to the problem of government schooling across this nation in **general**. It does NOT NOT NOT apply to you personally because your situation may, indeed, be unique. That is possible.)

In a generation or two the same arguments used to defend our socialist-entitlement and godless government schools will be used to defend Obamacare. The defenders of Obamacare will claim ( in capital letter) that millions of people will die without socialized medicine and that they will receive their inferior medical treatment in Obamacare clinics and hospitals.

I, too, am opposed to compulsory education (I’ve yet to find anyone who I could force to learn). I, too, am opposed to government-run education (I’ve yet to witness the government do little else but muck things up).

I am not advocating for ANY world view. I am advocating for education—the instruction in and the acquisition of meaningful life-skills including, but not limited to: critical thinking, reading, writing, mathematics, communication, technology. Additionally, the inculcation of historically traditional American culture which requires the understanding of America’s foundational principles and civic responsibilities. To that end, I am not suggesting trying to “sneak” anything in, but, rather, to foment a discussion and consideration of all world views, including the historic contributions (and consequences) of each of these. As you might imagine, it is my belief that when this is done, biblical Christianity will be shown to be “the way, the truth, and the life” but, certainly not something to be “forced” on anyone.

Until such time as ALL concerned individuals rally their forces and their might and bring these to bear on the failed (not failing, but failed) apparatus that is public education in America today, I will do my part in creating a microcosm of such an educational model in my classroom. In doing so, I believe I am acting in good faith by honorably serving my God AND my employer.

Essentially, like so many there are no answers to the questions I posed, merely the “I am called” response that totally shuts down any resolution to the moral conundrum that exists between Christianity and teaching children to think and reason godlessly.

I don’t see how it is possible to **lawfully** create a Christian microcosm within the godless government K-12 system. That could only be explained if the questions I posed were answered.

Yes, there are good government teachers, if they are doing what I suggested. I personally have never met one in person.
