Ironically, she was a British-designed Type 42 destroyer that was built in Argentina. Technically she was a sister-ship to HMS Sheffield.

She hasn’t been in commission since the late 1980s - the Brits weren’t too keen to maintain a supply of spare parts after the Falklands unpleasantness/misunderstanding.

"The Trinidad was the invasion ship for the Falklands before the Royal Navy arrived."
And
"Ironically, she was a British-designed Type 42 destroyer that was built in Argentina. Technically she was a sister-ship to HMS Sheffield."

I'm sure there is a suitable German word for this.
