Unlike most Federal departments, the USPS brings in revenue, and will never have to be supported to the obscene extent that the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development for example is supported. You and I and most citizens use the services of the USPS, while HUD’s services are directed toward a few.

For sure, the agencies you mention need to be done away with, and there are others ( most all actually when you look at what The Constitution mandated for the Federal Government). I just think it’s prudent to make the USPS into an entity that serves the citizens today. Fact is, most people don’t use the mail as much as they used to. I guess it would really be too much to hope for, for the USPS to start acting like it would if it were a private business.
