The way I understand it is when you purchase a firearm, the dealer simply calls the instant back round system to see if you're on a prohibited list, if you are, you are denied purchase.

There is no recording of who was checked or what is being purchased, it's just a yea or nay type thing.

That's the way I understand it, if I am wrong, I'm sure some one will correct me.

This is all true however, the ATF can inspect those records at ANY time and there are reports that they have been making copies and taking them with them when they leave. Also the FFL seller has to retain those records for ever. So there is a trail and or record when you purchase a firearm thru a FFL dealer now.

Thanks, yes I remember reading about that.

I have no doubt they a slowly building their illegal data base for nefarious purposes.

I trust them about as far as I can throw them.
