and there are reports that they have been making copies and taking them with them when they leave.

Thanks, yes I remember reading about that.

I have no doubt they a slowly building their illegal data base for nefarious purposes.

I trust them about as far as I can throw them.

Politicians and corporate CEO’s/execs are the ones who are afraid. Both groups screwed this country royally via crony capitalism and free trade. Minorities and Jews fear gun ownership because they know in terms of numbers even armed they are outnumbered in their nightmare scenarios of whites going to kill them all. They want the entire nation unarmed except for the gov. Since they are well organized into ethnic voting blocs, they will leverage their small numbers by pressuring key gov elected officials and judges what they want and keep the majority off balance and powerless.

I don't own an assault weapon.
Those were tightly restricted by the National Firearms Act of 1934.

I do own a Tyranny Response Rifle.

BTW, aren’t they supposed to destroy those forms after six months?

No.

The seller keeps the records until they end the business. Then they turn the records over to the BATFE, if I understand it correctly.

Federal Firearms Licensee Quick Reference and Best Practices Guide
http://www.atf.gov/publications/download/p/atf-p-5300-15.pdf

Acquisition and Disposition (A&D) Record

You MUST at all times maintain on your licensed
premises A&D records that document the acquisition and
disposition of firearms. The A&D record must include
information about the acquisition and disposition of
ALL firearms for sale or trade, consignment firearms,
pawned firearms, repair firearms (if sent for repairs or
kept overnight), replacement firearms, firearms loaned
or rented for use off your licensed premises, and all other
acquisitions and dispositions of firearms. All firearms
that you acquire must be documented in your A&D
record.

Wrong. I just asked my FFL about that this morning. They list caliber, type weapon and serial #. pretty easy for ATF to copy all those background checks to start a Registry. FFL’s are obliged to retain them for 20 years and then send them to an archive somewhere. I hope my FFL takes them on a boat ride somewhere...

Go to ruger.com. Ruger set up an email system where you enter your address info, review the letter they drafted and clicking it will send the letter to all your local, state, Congress reps and POTUS. The site is approaching its 3rd week and last I looked 728,000 has clicked it. Like to see it up to 1,000,000 by 4th week and growing. Get everyone you know on it. Do not double click it. No repeats. Give the gov reps real numbers to chew on. Even NY who just had the gun ban passed, click it any way. Gives message to rural Dem reps they kicked an hornets nest. Right now reps are trying to assess gun owner sentiment vs gun control sentiment. Don’t give up, every click will count.

Oddly enough, on all the many many banglist threads, the literal intent of those specific words is not often discussed and/or championed.

A reading of the amendment itself and some cursory research into its background leads one to the conclusion that the Founders intended no prohibition save incarceration.

Lower receiver of AR-15 requires FFL to purchase. It contains the serial number, make and model of weapon. The lower receiver just serves as a structure for the trigger, hammer and sear, as well as mag detach latch, handgrip and butt stock. It is not a very highly stressed part like the upper receiver which contains the barrel, gas tube, bolt, etc etc where the bullet cartridge ignites, explodes and propels the bullet thru the barrel.
Unlike the upper receiver the lower receiver can be made from high impact ABS plastic. Today there are 3 D printers which can take a 3 D drawing of the lower receiver, use plastic filaments from a spool, feed it thru a heated header (similar in function like printer heads on a computer printer) and etch thin layer of the lower receiver, followed by another etch layer on top of the already etched layer. This process repeats itself until the printer produces a three dimension structure. The printer can take an accurate 3 D image of the lower receiver off a computer screen and produce a plastic version via the 3 D printer.
The plastic lower receiver is strong enough to house the trigger, sear, hammer, associated springs, safety, all associated pins, buffer tube with spring, handgrip, mag release latch etc etc found on a normal assembled lower receiver.
What officials fear is this info is available on the internet and people can produce the FFL controlled part, go and buy all the parts needed to create a functional lower receiver, and buy a complete upper receiver, slap it on and lock the pins, viola a functional AR-15 bypassing FFL and official scrutiny. The AR-15 is the only rifle that I know that the FFL controlled component is a structure while most rifles, the FFL controlled part is the receiver that contains the barrel and houses the bolt. Such a component undergo high pressures during function and cannot be reproduced as plastic component. The AR-15 FFL controlled component can be reproduced as a plastic component.

You know what guys,, smart people who know guns will see the holes in their law, and know fine semi autos that easily have the same capability, yet did not make the list.
Why not keep it to yourself here, all it would take is for them to see some posts saying what we intend to buy, and just add those to the list.

Don’t make it easy for the enemy.

Start here or directly to here
A 3-d printer is capable of creating an object from a file using plastics - in the case of weapons, they can "print" the non-structural part (can't "print" a barrel, for instance). You'll have to use Google to get a grasp of the technology.

But they're getting pretty good at the AR lowers, finding the weak points and strengthening them iteratively.

Strange. I got this when I tried to submit my letter...

We were unable to find officials matching this address for the targets of this engagement. Please verify your address is correct if you believe this to be in error.

I would think my two commie senators here in CO would be prime targets.

And, I have yet to see the lovely GOP ‘leadership’ come out and hammer the Left.

Why, if I am banned from possessing, let alone the acknowledged reason for this bill is to dry up supply, is that not an infringement upon my 2nd A. Rights?!

Oh, how I wish I could get an Amend. passed:

“Any person holding office, that:
1) submits any bill without citing the Constitutional area of authority and/or
2) In direct violation thereof, as it is written and originally understood at the time of its inception, of said document shall:
A) Immediately vacate their office, and stripped of any/all pay and all benefits from that day forward.
B) Personally pay a fine of $5M, adjusted for inflation, payable to the Treasury to pay down any/all debt, and serve 3 years in federal prison for deprivation of Citizen Rights.
C) Their party fined $50M, adjusted for inflation, for each offense, payable to the Treasury to pay down any/all debt”
